Isn't that more of a reaction thatn a thought really. Prejudice means to pre judge, and isn't that what everyone does in the first place. When meeting someone, most if not all people make an assumption in their heads of what kind of person or who the person might be, which in turns means they pre judged the person, in other words they were prejudice. When a girl presents her boyfriend to her parents, the parents judge foremost based on looks, if the boyfriend has long raggedy hair, torn jeans, flip flops, he's unshaven and has a shirt that says love em and leave me, the parents have already prejudged him on what kind of person he might be, which may not be the case, it is a daily occurance that cannot be controlled, so how are we suppose to not be prejudice?

I have a very diverse group of friends and they keep sliding to talking in languages I don't know (their mother tongues)... I don't want to bug them but this annoys me! They say they talk about unimportant stuff, that it's easier, etc... What am I supposed to do while they talk in arabic or chinese? Smile? Any suggestions are welcomed!

Does anyone who works in the medical profession, as or with doctors, know the answer to this etiquette conundrum? Or for everyone else, what is the price range you have spent or would spend? Any and all replies would be greatly appreciated! Thank you and happy holidays!

Okay so, my little sister is visiting from out of town and to day is her last day here so we were going to go to the beach and hang out all day and just relax, but these two girls from down the street are tagging along behind her and sort of invitied themselves over for the day. i don't want to be rude but my little sister is really getting fed up with them so how can i get rid of them without being a 'mean grownup'?

It frustrates me when I see people walking down the street or in a parking lot with their child or baby, or the female on the "street" or "traffic" side. I guess many people have never heard about the etiquette dealing with that which dictates that for safety, the stronger person or the male walks there in case a car jumps the curb, splashes water or what have you. I wish people were more aware of this because when I see it I just want to correct it.

A friend of mine was forced by his wife to go out to eat at a Chinese restaurant with other people. He HATES Chinese food. He was quite disgruntled about it and tried to hide it, but must have lost it because halfway through the dinner, he said to everyone, "I wonder what kind of "CAT" this is?" as he holds up a piece of CHICKEN!

How does one even react to this?

I have had an xbox360 for almost 2 months now and never had a problem playing it, until Christmas day that is! I was given (or left from Santa depending how old you are) 4 new games. I loaded one into my machine and within 2 minutes it had turned off and refused to turn back on. It's now been taken away by couriers and won't be returned from Microsoft for 15 working days!

I remeber saying to my mum 'It's sod's law isn't it!'. Do you believe in stuff like that or is it just a coincidence?

Recently I dropped a fifty pence piece in the kitchen and it landed on the floor and rolled under a crack in the cupboard - not if I tried 1000 times could I get that to happen again. Do you believe there are strange things going on? Surely things that are nigh on impossible to happen but do so must have happened to you too?

This was the first Christmas my husband I had as newlyweds. When we went over to my father-in-laws parents home on Christmas Eve for dinner. My husband asked me if I had bought a present for his grandparents, I said no because I was too busy with work; we had just sunk over $300 into an auto repair and these people literally have everything. I suggested telling them I was making a charitiable donation in their name, and do it when I got paid later in the week. My mother-in-law said that grandma "bootsy" wouldn't accept that, she HAS to have a gift. When grandma opened the card that my mother in law gave her, like a little kid, she grabbed for the gift card enclosed first and then complained about the amount in front of everyone! My mother-in-law told grandma that my husband and I really didn't have the money for a gift. Greed is not tolerated at all in my family. I would have gotten spanked as a young child for something like that. I do not want to associate with her because of this.

The thing is, that i don´t have very much in common with her. As much as I am ashamed of admitting it, i think she is a pain in the a** and I always descreetly try to avoid her at work.

We are of same nationality and we live abroad. I feel obligated to invite her just out of sympathy. When she first moved here, i invited her to all social events, but i stopped after i realized we dont really connect.

Many people from our country live in the area, so it is not a matter of me being the only one she knows..

Should I invite her and stop being so selfish or should I say she has to figure it out for herself and not feel so guilty? Isn't it normal that once in a while you meet somebody you basically dont like?

I'm a single mom going through a difficult time: no job, hardly any money in my account, no support system. I'm living off of my dad's handouts.

I decided w/o thinking to allow this emotionally unstable girl I've known for a long time to reenter my life and stay with me and my son in our studio. I don't know why she won't stay with relatives or one of her many friends.

The thing is she was supposed to stay for 2 wks but now she wants to stay for 1-2 months. She doesn't want to pay half the rent even though she has a job. She uses the internet all the time but has never offered to pay some of it and she knows I have a high bill.

She's really annoying me right now: not paying me for the wk, coming in late at night, talking on the phone late at night and singing all the time. I'm so mad I'm not even talking to her. She thinks she hasn't done anything wrong.

The only positive about her is she buys her own food, bought some cheap things for my son and she seems to like him

I have a co-worker who talks all day long, none stop, making up absurd stories. She's also the type that asks completly irrelevent questions at the most inappropriate times, complains about every problem with the audits, and any time somene else mentions something that happened to them, like a personal story, she has to pitch in her 10 minutes of how the same thing happened to her but in a more extreme situation and goes on..and on..and on... I have pretty high tolerance, and patience, but this woman is getting on my last nerve...Anyone had this problem? Whats the best way to deal with it?
