I get around, and have many wonderful friends. The one thing that I have realized is that all of my friends are well dressed, well educated, and an awful lot of fun to be around. They also happen to be well accomodated financially. A friend at lunch observed that poor people may be being punished by God for something that they did. I'm not so sure about that, but I have to say that I notice poor people in the grocery store line tend to make a big ruckus about things, and they are hideously unpleasant on public transportation...putting their feet up on the seats, throwing garbage on the floor etc. I'm not saying that the poor are poor because they are being punished by God. I guess I am wondering why they can't be little nicer.

Ok, my new neigbor is a newly divorced mother of a 4 and 6 yr old boy. At first I thought "Cool, I have a 4 yr old, they can be friends!"

Umm, No way. They are monsters, up until 3am screaming like banshees regularly. They throw things at peoples cars...with the owners standing there no less!!
The mother is no better. She blares her Rob Zombie and NIN until 4 in the morning and it's so loud, we can hear every word clearly. Not to mention she smokes pot and it comes into our apartment through the radiators. It was so strong one night that we had to open windows and leave the room. She also likes to appropriate other people's things for her personal use. She has also thrown our things in the trash when they were on OUR SECOND FLOOR landing... she's on the FIRST.
I sent the landlord a letter cause I don't think it's smart to complain to the downstairs tenant when they're stoned out of their gourd and I don't think i'd be polite.
If they don't stop, what else can I do? Call the cops?

I've seen people open the cap of the teapot open and leave it at the end of the table when they want a refill of their hot tea. Is that how you ask for a refill of hot tea in Chinese culture? Also, why do the waitpersons/servers make so much noise when they are putting the dishes away, etc? Is it better to make more noise?

asked me, " if i thought it was a tacky thing to send me a picture of himself for Christmas?" I sent him a $80.00 pair of shoes. My brother had emailed me a picture of the shoes, he said he liked. So I ordered them online for him. My brother has always thought he was smarter than i and he also thinks he's better than me. Do you think the gift was as he said, "TACKY?" i CALL IT SELF ABSORBED.

Working as an escort accompanying men to dinner, on business trips etc, having dinner and drinks with them or just hanging out and chatting and getting paid to that, is legal, right? So, what if you and the client decide you're attracted to each other and want to have sex? He's already paid for your non-sexual services so if you decide to have sex with him without charging anything extra, that is surely not actually illegal, a long as you are consenting adult?? Please no moral judgments here, just answers

This is to those of you who've had a chance to live in or visit South Korea. Have you ever had the experience of a Korean walking backwards without looking in your direction and bumping into you? I don't want to sound prejudiced but it's happened to me here so many times at train stations, department stores or anywhere out on the street and it seems like they don't care, they don't even say "miyaneyo" (sorry) either. But if you bump into them accidentally, they usually over react. I don't want to assume that this is a cultural trait but it seems like it's happened too many times to just be a coincidence. Please share any similar experiences.

My name is Kyle and I'm a 16 year old boy. My Grandmother is in a wheelchair. I am concerned because I removed one of the screws from her wheels so I could hang a picture of my girlfriend on my bedroom wall using the screw. Lately, her wheelchair has been wobbly, and I'm certain the wheel will fall off in the coming days. Should I come clean about this, or should I pretend that I didn't do anything?

Do you think it is rude to copy the accents of other people. For example when you are talking to someone with an accent or talking about someone with an accent from another country is it rude to talk like them, even if it is just one sentence?

I answered a question that called for a single word answer, I put 35, as this seemed an appropriate reply, as a result I had my answer removed and lost points. Personally I think that Yahoo answers interfered with freedom of speech, as many yes or no or other single words are used in yahoo answers. But what do you think? (OK 35 don't say much but what's wrong with it?) I'm puzzeled that some have symbols that or pictures that could cause offense and these are left alone, but insignificant things can be penalised. What do you think should be considered sufficiently bad to remove from yahoo answers?

There is nothing to spit. And if I DID feel some unexplained need to spit, I would NOT spit in the front of doorways, in public places, outside at work, or ANYWHERE other people would step on it! Someone please tell me what this is all about! Is it a macho thing? How is this macho? How does it make you a man? And last of all, why in the world do you need to spit?

I work at a quiet local type pub and it really irritates me when ppl don't say goodbye- even when you've served them 3 times that night, and had to wait for them to leave to finish close. Does it bother you, or am I just expecting too much!

I go to the movies a lot, but I am starting to think it might not be such a good idea anymore. Over the last few years, more and more young African-American males have become very loud and raucous. At first I thought it was just a local problem, but I attended a theatre in another city and my relatives have noticed the same thing happening. It seems that it has become trendy for African-American youths to interact with the screen and yell at the actors. Has anyone else seen this happen? Is it a cultural problem in the black community?
