This is to those of you who've had a chance to live in or visit South Korea. Have you ever had the experience of a Korean walking backwards without looking in your direction and bumping into you? I don't want to sound prejudiced but it's happened to me here so many times at train stations, department stores or anywhere out on the street and it seems like they don't care, they don't even say "miyaneyo" (sorry) either. But if you bump into them accidentally, they usually over react. I don't want to assume that this is a cultural trait but it seems like it's happened too many times to just be a coincidence. Please share any similar experiences.

I lived in Korea as a 12 year old kid for a year. And some guy as he passed me on the street, grabbed my crotch, I looked back at him like wtf??!, he looked back at me and winked. If I ever see that guy again, Im gonna kick his a**.

I think it is their way of saying without verbally saying you don't exist to them.

I know for a fact that some Chinese people here in the United States (very different, I know I know...) treat you like you are royalty or something and then as soon as they turn their back on you talk about how horrible you are, even if you have been as polite as possible. Let's face it.. a lot of other countries hate Americans...

I have experienced it also. I think they want to do it for some reason.
I don't think they do it to be rude though.
By the way, galbi is delicious isn't it? Bulgogi too!

It is their way of saying: " Hi, good morning, I'm right here, you have to notice me."
