If you start in a shout, it is expected that you buy drinks in return until the "round" is finished, if the shout grows it isn't uncommon to break it into smaller groups, however if you join an existing shout you should be prepared to buy a whole round, -- it isn't considered rude to be in a shouting group & buy your own if you are only staying a short time

A"shout" is meaning if you are in it you must buy everyone that is in it a drink no matter what they re drinking even if its a bourbon compared to you having a beer.At the same time you should expect to be "shouted" yourself until its your turn to buy again.It all goes round in a circle. If you are from Australia you should know that...Pub rules!!!

if you have recieved and accepted one from then, yes it is just good manners to give back one to everyone. Or if you want pay for your own
