I work with a bunch of women and they're always trying to get me to buy makeup, candles, jewelry, tupperware, knives, candy, cookie dough, etc. at work. I always try to buy from their kids fundraisers b/c I feel like it's a good cause, but there is a new invitation in my mailbox everyday, especially now that it's the holidays. The worse part is that some of them turn their noses up at me now b/c I don't come to their parties after work or on the weekends.

What do you think? Is it ok to run a "home based business" from your place of business???

In my opinion I think that when a man is having a conversation with a woman and he keeps constant eye contact with her then it must mean that he is actualy paying attention to the conversation, however some pals of mine argue that it really means that the guy is either A:interested in the woman or B: not really paying attention.
Well?
I know of a couple of guys that carry pretty good eye contact with me and I just assume that they are paying attention to what I say which I find to be good, honest, and respects that they are not looking elsewhere.

I'm in high school, do you think that it is arrogant to just go up to a group of people out of the blue and ask if you can sit with them at lunch or something like that. I know them all and they all like me and I like all them and I've known them for years even though we're not really close friends but I don't know if that's like inviting myself and it's arrogant and I should just forget it.

I went up to my professor and asked him a question. As he was answering me he caressed/rubbed my upper arm. I was froze stiff thinking omigosh. He didn't have a learing look and he did it in front of other students like it was no big deal--but it was too friendly. I don't even really know him, I just basically say hi to him twice I week when class meets. He touched my arm before when I asked a question, but I took as no big deal, since a lot of people touch arms while talking. If he would have just placed his hand on my shoulder, that wouldn't have bugged me. It was that he was moving his hand around my upper arm that freaked me out. I never saw him do this to any other students. I have never seen ANY teacher/professor do that to a student before. Heck, even my dad won't do that, unless I am crying my head off and he is trying to comfort me. Other than that, I think it was inappropriate what my professor did. I am not sure if it is considered under sexual harrassment though

Okay, so there are some "little" things that really bug me. But all these little things start adding up to one big problem so I wanna tell you all the things my roommates do, and you tell me if I'm overreacting. Roommate A. never helps clean the bathroom and kitchen. He never pitches in for toilet paper and slams his door right next to my room even in the middle of the night. He has a girlfriend that comes over ALL THE TIME so I also have to share my living space with her. Roommate B. lets his dog up on MY couches when I don't even let my own dog up there. He leaves MY t.v. on that I generously donated to the living room. Eats my food and leaves his trash all throughout the house. At least the first roommate confines his trash to his stinky bedroom. Roommate C. is my ex. He's not so bad 'cause I can still tell him what to do but for example, he never makes up the bed. He also never has cleaned the bathroom and he too doesn't pitch in for household necessities. So whaddya think?

I bought a cam off ebay that had a memory card. When i was doing a low level check of its sectors some "adult" pictures were found. The seller is a private seller, not a reseller... Should i tell the seller so that they do not sell other things such as hard drives or other cameras with their data on them? Or should i stay quiet and save them the embarrassment? The geek in me wants to give them links to data wiping software, but the good citizen in me doesnt want to hurt their ego. Thanks.

I have just left the serving industry for good because i have had it with ignorant customers.

Tipping is not mandatory at a restaurant, but in our society (and most others) some sort of tip for service is expected. The amount has changed over the years, but 18-20% is a good tip for good service.

I work at a very casual restaurant in downtown Chicago and let me tell you...it was not an odd thing to be stiffed AT LEAST 3 times a night...absolutly insane.

I consider myself a great server. I get orders correct, i actually have a personality, and i have tons of years of experience. But it was not uncommon for a group of four people to come in, order 4 steaks and alcoholic drinks, get a $100 check and leave me $4. That is wrong. Absolutly wrong. And to have this happen to you and all your fellow servers several times a night is discouraging and frustrating.

So what do you think?

I put a lot of time and effort to put together bayberry candle grams and selecting Christmas gifts, but some of the recipients do not acknowledge them at all. I don't expect a ticker-tape parade, but I feel hurt when hours of work and design go into a project and there is no appreciation. So should I continue to send greetings, or after a few years, remove names from my list? Is the 'thank you' extinct?

Some guy at work, asked me about the music on my ipod.

Then asked me to download, fo free, three albums!! He has not even listed the songs and expects me to look for them!

He asked a mate of his to do it, but that mate said his computer 'has a virus'.. I bet!!

He has not even offered a gift or payment!

I walk in and I wait in line. I notice a black man was filling out a change of address form at the table to my left.. He gets done no sooner than I get inline and proceeds to get in front of me. He mentions he was already inline and he just needed to quickly fill out a form... I told him, you're ignorant... And, if your not inline, you don't have a place inline... I stood there a bit fumed and said " F " this and walked in front of him and told him, I lost track of where I was supposed to be.. He backed down and I resumed where I was suppose to be.. So, I'm waiting and I'm to be called next when the black postal worker - tells me, you stay there.. And then waves on the black man behind me... WTF!! This is totally not fair. Because I'm white I need to take a back seat to black people! BULLCRAP! If I filled out a change form - I would think fairly when I am done - I would go to the end of the line! COMMENTS please.

I am a heavy smoker and and top of that I have just gotten this nasty cold. I find myself coughing up flem all the time and it is gross. It is so gross that if I swallow it back down, I will throw up. If I try to cough/hack it out, it makes a disgusting sound and then I have to spit it somewhere.

We all have dogs but the other neighbors use the yard and do not pick up the poo. I am the only one in the building with a child who may play in the yard from time to time. We take our dog in the alley in the back and side of the building.
