If you're a woman and you were to receive a military medal or a decorative sabre form your husband or your boyfriend for your birthday or a wedding anniversary or Christmas. Instead of a typical ring or bracelet. Would you get upset or disappointed?

I come here and post questions that I want real answers to. I have better things to do with my time than answer stupidly with ignorance and immaturity all because of a point system.
I mean that has to be it .....right????
People don't come on here and answer questions with answers they would pull out of their ***; when I would get better answers from my 11 year old daughter and her friends, just to answer questions in that manner would they??
So, you come on here and answer questions with stupid answers JUST to get points????
SAD!!!
I like those who at least take time to read my FULL question. I earlier asked a question conscerning PHOTOS through email and someone explained to me how to send a regular email. She had absolutely nothing about pics in her response.
Do you ppl even read the &))*%^%^% question???

Five Englishmen boarded a train just behind five Scots, who, as a group had only purchased one ticket. Just before the conductor came through, all the Scots piled into the toilet stall at the back of the car. As the conductor passed the stall, he knocked and called"Tickets, please!" and one of the Scots slid a ticket under the door. It was punched, pushed back under the door, and when it was safe all the Scots came out and took their seats. The Englishmen were tremendously impressed by the Scots' ingenuity. On the trip back, the five Englishmen decided to try this themselves and purchased only one ticket. They noticed that, oddly, the Scots had not purchased any tickets this time. Anyway, again, just before the conductor came through, the Scots piled into one of the toilet stalls, the Englishmen into the other. Then one of the Scots leaned out, knocked on the Englishmen's stall and called "Ticket, Please!" When the ticket slid out under the door, he picked it up and quickly closed the door

Need some opinions on a mini-dilemma of mine.

I have a cleaning lady who comes to my house every two weeks. She's been working for me for the past 2-3 years and also worked for my house's previous owner. She does an acceptable job and she's cheap, but can sometimes be flaky and unreliable.

The last time she was here was three days ago. And tonight, I discovered that a plastic hook on the charger for my hand vac was broken. This meant that I couldn't hang the vac back on the charger anymore. I'm 99% certain that she is responsible, but she didn't let me know or leave a note. No one else has been in my house since she was here.

I'm ticked about this because the vac was a wedding gift. I plan on telling her that she should be responsible for this, since no one else could have possibly done it. If she denies it or refuses to pay for a replacement, I'm considering letting her go for someone else.

What would you do in the same situation? Please share your thoughts.

I was at my gf's Christmas party with over 200 people there. The DJ played tunes that she liked, but not much stuff for me. I let her go dance by herself and she doesn't push me to dance to things I don't dance to. However, there was another couple at our table, plus 4 women that talked together in their group the whole time without approaching me. So, I walked outside in the cold to be truly by myself for a while. It hurts more having the opportunity for interaction with no success, than the opportunity not being there in the first place.

I don't expect my gf to come looking for me, as I don't have any "leash" on her, but it still bugs her when I leave. But she knows I was picked on in high school and that has left me being shy, which is why I don't approach others very often. She's quite the opposite and outgoing, (and so tolerant and understanding of me). I need help dealing with shyness, but no advice from anyone who was popular or halfway popular in HS.

I have a friend who lets her young children answer the telephone. The youngest is 4 the other 7. When they answer they like to play around before they give their parents the phone. These children know me well. Yesterday when I called the 7 year old answered, she knew it was me, but she kept saying my name over and over. I finally just hung up. I am very annoyed by this; so much that I don't want to call anymore. I have mentioned this subject in a general way to the parents but they did not pick up on the hint. I should also add that these children are not very disciplined. Anyone have any feelings on this subject?

I mean for ph*ksake theres no one in front of you! Why don't you just speed up or get over? Why should I have to lose time out of my day because you're a dewshbahger??? All I ask is [if traffic allows it] go faster if you drive in the left lane and if you go under the speed limit in the fast lane please give me your address so I can light your car on fire and save the rest of us some time and frustration.

"WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PASS YOU IN THE RIGHT HAND LANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I'm not a wreckless, speed crazed driver. I just want to drive at reasonable speeds in the appropriate places!

I'm not saying we should be rude and intentionally offensive, but the PC garbage has gone a little too far. Can't we go back to common sense and politeness.

Some people are virgin until 30s even 40s maybe very few of them die as a virgin but most of us lose it. Is being virgin and marrying virgin unethical today? because mostly people tend to laugh at that incidents and make fun of them. But probably some longer time ago I think it was opposite.

Without sounding judgmental, why do you post questions that are almost unreadable because of the spelling or grammar?

Is it because you don't know proper spelling or grammar? Are you new to English? Do you think it's cool? Are you lazy? Are you just having fun with it? Do you not care?

What's the logic behind it? I'm seriously trying to understand it, and I'm not trying to be a snob.

I got rid of my facebook (myspace) a week ago without telling my friends at school, who were really excited and happy that I decided to get one. Now they seem po'ed at me. Should I have said something? I thought about it but I onestly thought it would be arrogant of me to think they cared that much. I don;t know though they seemed po'ed before this, I wonder if they thought I was arrogant because I added a lot of friends. I guess I could either apologize, put it back up, act like nothing happen, let it fade away. I honestly thought they would figure out that I got rid of it and they never asked me. The screwy thing is I'm trying to get to become better friends with these people and I don't know if this screws it up. I also have incredibly low self esteem and social anxiety disorder so I guess I could be misinterpreting anger, like I do a lot, but now they have reason to be pis sed

I live in a rural area of Virginia. The suburbs of Northern Virginia are extending into my area and ruining everything! When those transplants from the north moved here, housing costs went way up. The average house went from being $60,000 to $200,000. It became impossible for the natives in my town to buy houses. My family ended up losing the farm and selling it to make room for tract housing. Besides housing, practically everything in town has become expensive. Luckily for the Yankees, they have tons of money from their jobs in D.C.; we dont. Also, my town's southern way of life is deteriorating. No one seems to have an accent anymore and no one is ever polite. Stores like American Eagle, Gucci, and Abercrombie and Fitch have moved to my area. The natives here have become twice as poor and the Yankees have become twice as rich. I guess soon ill be pronouncing Jersey as Joisey, too. What can I do to preserve my towns southern heritage and prevent northerns from ruining our lives?

In other words, why is the first or second question after being introduced is "what do you do for a living"? Some of us consider such a question to be very personal, and quite offputting to be asked, especially when saying "none of your business" isn't an option.

Example: I was introduced by phone to my brother's new girlfriend and she went on to ask me this question. I happen to be unemployed at the moment, because I chose to get married and move to my husband's country, where at the moment I'm not allowed to work, but ultimately I shouldn't have to explain that to someone I just met. I prefer to know them better before I do.

After all, what if I was chronically unemployed, a prostitute, on welfare or disability or any other status that a lot of people do condemn with minimal knowledge of the circumstances?

I would like to see if someone can help me come up with a reply that politely tells the asker how inappropriate their question is without offending them.
