I'm a virgin. I'm 20 years old. And i was at my friend's apt. and these two guys were cracking jokes about being virgins(even though they wern't) They still didn't shut up about it after they found out that i was one.

Why do people do this? Do they think they are better than virgins?

It sounds like the two guys are socially and sexually immature and were hiding that fact. If they over reacted while joking about virgins, it could also mean that they were hiding the fact that they are virgins themselves. No young guy wants to admit he can't get laid. By mocking virgins, they feign to be experienced.

Be proud that you are a virgin. It shows you have wisdom, patience, insight and discretion. You choose your own destiny and do not buckle to pressures from peers, society or media.
You are an intelligent and classy young woman.

Well, I'm 19 years old, and still a virgin. Do I care a shiit if guys make fun of me for being a virgin? no, instead I laugh at them because I'm not as stupid-I'm willing to wait and make it special. Being a virgin is a wonderful thing, there are a lot of guys who are intrigued by women who are still virgins because they realize they have class; or are willing to wait for Mr. right-which is a plus, because they realize your serious about relationships, which could favor you, since you'll seem like a girl they can bring home to.

Who cares what some immature boys think. I wish i was still a virgin and honestly give respect for virgins, there are not many left the way the world is now. Don't listen to dumb ignorant guys.

I have no idea, but please don't let it get to you. I only have a problem with virgins that try to tell everyone else what love is all about. I also have a problem with people who have left virginity far behind, went through several partners, can't settle down, and want to tell everyone else what love is all about. The experienced ones that make fun of virginity are only trying to reassure themselves that they're on the right path. If they were certain of that, they wouldn't have to. Either way, It isn't anyone else's business. Those that try to make it their business are only being judgemental, regardless of which side of the fence they're on.

Some people think they are "worldly" because they've had sex. Not true. Maybe they thought their first time was gonna be magical and mystical and all that, but after a while, it turns out sex isn't all it's cracked up to be. You're best best is to ignore people like that and wait until you meet that special guy/gal to give the first time some meaning.

Virgins have something that non-virgins gave up and can never get back again. Those too immature to deal with the possible feelings of jealousy that this may arouse try to mask that by making fun of virgins.

They don't think they are better. They think in there twisted heads that if they crack jokes and make fun of you they might stand a shot in getting you in bed if you want to stay a virgin for the rest of your life that is your business. When i met my wife I am marred to for 26 years she was 28 years and was a virgin when i met her.But that did not last for real long time. But we are still togeather.

They were joking because when you're a virgin you wonder what you've been missing. They were laughing on the outside, blubbering on the inside because they've had sex and still can't figure it out. They were probably with each other and hope it doesn't count. Wishful thinking.

Well, I don't know about girls, but for us guys it's because a lot of guys take pride in how much they can 'score'. (I would estimate about 75% of guys are just sex-obsessed, but the other 25% treat it with more respect than most girls I've seen.)

Generally, it's a status thing. Many people who are either insecure, or who have no real identity of their own, can only build self-esteem/identity by comparing themselves to someone else. For the ones with problems of self-esteem, they will make fun of anything different, because it makes them feel better about the way they are. For those who make fun based on identity, it's because they feel they have nothing that's truely 'themselves' unless its in comparison to someone else. (They identify themselves generally by what they're not, rather than what they are.) However, reasons change from person to person. So these are just general occurances, not the hard-fast rule.

HI....Good to know that in these times there r people who still can hold on to their own not just jump for sex....as u r 20 good...

as for ur q?....they were making fun so that they could instigate u to loose it n they could have the pleasure n definitely would go about telling others n making more fun if u had done it with them....

u must remember one thing always when people laugh at u is not that u r wrong ...its mostly that they couldn't have it or be like that.....so they dont want u to be different...........

the gift that u have once lost cannot be regained for nething in the world..........save it for the one whom u love n who loves u more.......
