I bought a cam off ebay that had a memory card. When i was doing a low level check of its sectors some "adult" pictures were found. The seller is a private seller, not a reseller... Should i tell the seller so that they do not sell other things such as hard drives or other cameras with their data on them? Or should i stay quiet and save them the embarrassment? The geek in me wants to give them links to data wiping software, but the good citizen in me doesnt want to hurt their ego. Thanks.

The pictures are already wiped off the card, so there is no sending it back lol. I did a full 0x0 write just to make sure my dad didn't turn on his christmas present and have a heart attack.

If it had been my camera that was sold, I wouldn't want to know that embarrassing pictures were left on the camera. It would haunt me that someone else had seen them, hahahaha. Maybe you could tell them you found some pictures left on the camera but that you just erased them without looking to see what they were. Then tell them about the data wiping software.

Wow, that is a tough spot!. In the end, what would you want someone to do if the tables were reversed (assuming that you were not as savvy as you obviously are)? I think that it would be an act of kindness to contact them; a little embarrassment now may save them from a worse fate later.

Había comprado antes una cámara digital de sitios web y quería algo más evolucionado, la última cámara que compre cumple todos mis expectativos, es fácil de utilizar, pantalla grande y hace unas fotos perfectas.

I agree, Tell them and see if they will swap a new memory card for yours. Or you could ask him if he wants to buy some pictures of his wife(LOL just kidding).

Let the seller know - If he wants them back sell them to him.
If he doesn't - blackmail him, and make him pay.
Either way you win.
