I have had an xbox360 for almost 2 months now and never had a problem playing it, until Christmas day that is! I was given (or left from Santa depending how old you are) 4 new games. I loaded one into my machine and within 2 minutes it had turned off and refused to turn back on. It's now been taken away by couriers and won't be returned from Microsoft for 15 working days!

I remeber saying to my mum 'It's sod's law isn't it!'. Do you believe in stuff like that or is it just a coincidence?

Recently I dropped a fifty pence piece in the kitchen and it landed on the floor and rolled under a crack in the cupboard - not if I tried 1000 times could I get that to happen again. Do you believe there are strange things going on? Surely things that are nigh on impossible to happen but do so must have happened to you too?

Sod's law should not be confused with Murphy's Law. Sod's Law says that dropped toast will nearly always fall butter side down and Murphy's Law states that if it is possible for something to happen, then sooner or later it will. Engineering is based on this. Then of course there is Jenkin's corollary to Murphy's Law, Murphy is an optimist.

Yes i believe in Sod's law and Murphy's law, and furthermore i think both were named after some of me ancestors. For my birthday in June i received a Freeview box, it's easy to get it up and running various people told me, it took the better part of a week. My Niece finally almost did the deed, although it was rolling on Freeview channels; then someone said switch off at socket then re-connect Hey Presto. This however was without our DVD player and just the video; the week before Christmas i thought it's not going to beat me, i'll set it up with the DVD. I did just that and now the Freeview channels are all in pink. I once bought a car for £1000 plus 3 week later sold it for £75.00, these are just 2 of many ridiculous situations that have arisen throughout my life.

Sod's law rules, at least in the lives of the poor sods who have to deal with it. As one said, life is a kick.
I refine the saying to "life is a kick up the bum" or in the bawls for most people ever so often. As a mate likes to say, "sometimes life presents as bit shi*t pie, and everyone has to take a bite."
And when it comes my way, I usually have no custard to help hide the flavour!

Also just recently i bought a new mp3 player for chrimbo and guess what i paid £21.99 for it two days later they had a 2gb version for only £22.99 i was so p*ssed off its unbelievable..

But seriosuly you notice these things more than anything because you know its going to happen if you know what i mean like oh i know i wont win the lottery yet you think of the numbers as they are called out and you would of won etc...

I do firmly believe in Sods law.

These things just seem to happen to me. If the odds are that nothing bad will happen to 1million people I will be the million and first!

I think that you've probably dropped coins before in your life, it's just that the one that rolls under the cupboard is the one you remember.
