I'm in a situation where I may need to use a laundromat and it just seems a bit unsanitary to share washers and dryers with a bunch of strangers. Maybe I'm just overreacting. thanks for any feedback

I live in a maisonette on my own with my yr old baby and have a Czech family with two 10-ish yr olds living upstairs. They are really noisy, banging and crashing and play their music loud. All my friends who have been over say it's so noisy, I asked them nicely to keep it down one night when my baby was trying to sleep and their kids where screaming and jumping around over her room and the guy got annoyed at me. I feel bad to complain as they have kids but today was the last straw, my bro is staying & went for a nap today but couldn't sleep from te music and screaming so slept on the sofa, then my daughter had her nap and the music was still loud so I asked nicely if they could turn it down a bit, the woman said it was the afternoon, she could understand if it was night but its not and no she won't turn it down. They have banged on the floor when my daughter cried in the night so I moved her room, I am so annoyed with this inconsideration, what should I do, is it a cultural thing?

I've been invited to a fancy dress party in a couple of weeks, where I need to dress up as something/someone beginning with the first letter of my name, which is J.

Anyone have any ideas? It has to be relatively easy as I don't have much time to make a costume. Thanks!!!

Please share some interesting exit strategies you have for leaving a party that you do not want to be at. Besides the obvious like faking an illness, or having "somewhere else" to be.

what guarantee do you have that says the person preparing your food didn't just pick his nose or lob a loogie into your scarmbled eggs? do you think thats what gives the food its "special" taste? and why you keep going back to that place to eat?

I understand that in Rome, a full evening meal consists of an appetizer, a pasta, a meat plate(secondi), and perhaps a side or a salad.

For two people traveling on a budget, is it acceptable in Rome to share a meal, sitting down? Perhaps one or two appetizers and either 1) two pastas or 2) one pasta and a secondi?

Any thoughts? I love to travel, but on a budget; however, even though I'm on a budget, I don't want to offend anyone or look like a cheap pig :)

Some friends of mine are having a New Years Party tonight. I am supposed to meet them ahead of time. The last party they had I couldn't attend because I was sick. I'd like to spend New Years with my family, but I don't want them to think I'm dumping them. I currently have a cold and just want to stay in. What should I do? I can't tell them I'm sick again, that sounds like I'm lying even though I'm not.

Are you an exhibitionist, daring or does the thought of a guy getting turned on by your embarrassment turn you on? It can be totally on purpose or just accidental but detail how and where this has happened to you.

I feel like I'm pretty hopeless at starting conversations and I'm hoping to get some help. I hope you guys can give me a list of acceptable questions to ask a person you have first met, to break the ice and get conversation flowing.

I was wondering how many younger guys, say under 30, regularly carry a handkerchief? I ask because I use them, (I am 33) and some younger guy said to me the other day he thought they were for older guys, so I want to dispell his myth.

I went to the bank today. A rude 20's something valley girl cut in front of me in line. She was chatting loudly on her cell phone. I told her, "excuse me, but there is a line here." She responded, "well, you were just standing there off to the side..." I said, "well, if you weren't on your cell phone, you might be paying more attention." Then it was a verbal war. The 50's something vs the 20's something. She then proceeded to give her complete credit card number loudly over the cell phone to a merchant she was talking to. I then said in a loud voice..."hey did you hear that...she's giving us all her credit card information!" I told her she was an idiot and finished my banking. Why do people on cell phones think the public cares to listen to their affairs of what they are having for dinner, who's picking up the kids, who sleeping with who, and hello...can you hear me...hello?

Okay, so you're waiting in line in a public bathroom and the handicap stall is available. You're not handicapped. Is it okay to use it or not?
