First, it's a done deal, so at least act honorably and handle as gracefully as possible.

Send both of them flowers, call to admit your error and appologize. Ask if they would like to go out with you anyway and see if they would like to invite additional friends for a group outing.

See what happens. If they just want to go out and have a good time then they may be up for that.

At least be honest...

I think you should keep the date you made first. If you can't remember who that was, then I have no idea!!! Maybe you could write both their names on a piece of paper and draw a name out of a hat or if it's too hard to decide, break both the dates and ask the girls out on a date (on different nights of course!) another night and go out with your friends this evening.

Do the 2 ladies know each other? If they do you're really in trouble! Either split the night between the two or invite them both out w/ you and keep it light and friendly! Nobody wants to be alone on New Years Eve!

"some sort of stupor"????? Well these ladies should be flattered!! Do them a favor and cancel both of them. No one should be with a clod that asks while in "some sort of stupor"! Stay home, stay sober, and contemplate what your life could be if you were a gentleman.

You really need to choose one and quickly. It's not fair to the one lady you will not be choosing if you wait to last minute and she gets stuck without having no plans and spending tonight alone. The lady you are going to cancel with, You truly just need to be honest with her. If she is a decent person she will understand you made a mistake.

be honest with the 2 ladies. you'll get a better response from them with honesty. If one gets mad then it's not worth your time to set up another date with her. People make mistakes, they should understand and get a good giggle about it. now as far as which one you should take out tonight. well I don't know them so that is up to you. but the other party should understand as long as your honest.

You should take the lady you asked out for a date first. I mean, it is only fair!
Do they know eachother? You will be dead if they do.

Well, Good Luck Dude!

I love Life´s answer gets to the point, really.

You just don´t arrange two dates for the same night with two ladies. Think before you act. I think it´s quite a sad thing to do - and slightly immoral as well.

But maybe that´s just me. :)

You plan to dump one of your New Years dates on the night itself????

What a no-class act!!

I suggest you get a party together, and take them both to it - even if they have to meet you there.

well you could always make up a little white lie and pretend to be sick but then someone could find out and then where would you be??? or you could ditch one for the other. but that would just be mean. or you could mysteriously "forget" about one of them. your best bet would probably be to reshedule with one of them and act really sorry and be polite about it and then hope you dont run into her while your out with the other.
