just the bass only (music can't be heard) can we lodge a police report as is driving ppl crazy. Neighbours are not on talking term so do not advise to talk to them.

if the music they are blasting is rap or its sub genres or pop and its sub genres....you must stop them at all costs....if it is any form of rock/metal/etc. u cannot stop them without being held on trial for treason

My house is quite quiet, I stay in a rural section on a rustic street. The noisest difficulty is the site visitors interior the front area of the homestead. there's a flow in the back of the homestead and it attracts lots of birds. So I positioned my chook feeder ideal up in front of my kitchen window. ideal below the eve of the roof, keeps the seeds advantageous 'n dry. They never get moist while it rains. i've got had many forms of birds, even some that are way too huge to perch on the feeder. lol So while the climate is advantageous, I positioned out a dish on the grass for the huge birdies. My neighbor around the corner is often development something, or tinkering, by out the day. yet our homes are distant and he's quiet as quickly as the sunlight is going down.

This is a building defect, due to the fact called mechanical resonance. The lower frequency (bass) 100Hz and less are easily transmitted thru certain beams, pillars, bed, wodden furniture. This sound also reaches the ear thru bone conduction. That is why you feel bass not hear it.
Try Sound Proofing your room. There is no use in conflict, Both sides lose.

Not much you can do during the day, at least not here in NY, but I would think that at night after a certain time they are required by law to turn the music (bass included) to a certain volume.

If you can't talk to them and you don't really want to deal with police......go outside to their meter box and switch it off.
Had this problem with my neighbors for a period of time. Finally, started turning off their power at meter box. I live in Phx, so they were without air conditioning for about a day. This was during the summer, so they learned not to do that.
Just don't get caught! Otherwise, call five-oh everytime......waiting for police on non-emergency is waste of time....you gotta take action against those rude neighbors.

I would imagine you can file a police report if the music is loud after dark. Call your town's police dept to find out what the noise ordinances are (i.e., "quiet hours"). If the neighbors violate the noise policies after hours, then call the cops.
