I agree, if you don't who will. There is just something wrong with someone that doesn't even think their own jokes are funny enough to laugh at.

I dont consider it bad taste, but its all in the delivery. Your goal is to make others laugh when you tell a joke. When you laugh at it yourself, sometimes it almost ruins it, makes people think they have to laugh because you did.
Watch some comedians who laugh at thier own jokes. It pretty much seems thier are trying to cue thier audience that its time to laugh. If that has to be done, the joke isnt funny to begin with.

It's only 'bad' (awkward is a better word) if you're the only one that laughs. If you laugh along with those you tell it to, that's great! It means you have a good sense of humor. Like you said - if you don't think it's funny, nobody else will.
Some people will just start laughing because you laughed, and then they'll be like, "...I don't get it."

I don't know why...
But I do laugh at my own jokes because I think they are funny. I would not tell the joke if I didn't think it was funny.

i've never heard that it's bad taste to laugh at your own jokes....
when i tell a joke, i'm the one laughing loudest and longest!!

I laugh out loud at jokes in my head. But then again I am very easily amused.

Depends on the people you hang out with...
I do it with my friends, but if you are acting in front of an audience then it would be backfire because it would put the audience off since you sort of expect them to laugh...

it is bad laughing at it because you did it so.....you are going to have to let someone else laugh so it is a joke so it is their entertainment.well maybe they will!
