Umm I think you can pull it off, but only if the jeans fit nicely and are dark. (NO HOLES!!!) Then definetely add a really dressy top, some really cute heels, makeup, jewelry, and you will be good to go. (If you show up a little late, everyone will probably be too plastered to notice anyways!!!)

"Dressy" means "appropriate to somewhat formal occasions." Think semi-formal or at the very least office attire.
If the host of this party has gone to the trouble of specifying "dressy," then he or she wishes you to attend in something nicer than jeans. No matter whether they're dark blue or black or what you wear with them, jeans are not what people want you to wear when they go to the trouble to ask for "dressy."
Of course, you can always wear what you have, if you can't afford to buy any new clothes. But if you have something else in the closet, you might want to consider the host's feelings, his or her guests, and any possible social discomfort you and they might feel.

Depends on where the party is. In Texas it is almost always appropriate to wear good jeans and dressy shirt with nice boots to anything short of a black tie event. Just make sure you wear your church hat, not your field hat. So you'd have to be more specific.

I think so! If the jeans are nice and tight, also, dark jeans can look quite dressy. High heels are a must though if you are wearing jeans to a party - adds that dressy factor!

Huh no-blue jeans aren't dressy. Go with khaki or black pants. Unless you have some blue jeans with rhinestones on them.

I would have to say no, you might look a bit underdressed, even if the shirt and shoes are nice. you should try black, pants, some are just as comfortable as your blue jeans.

I think if you pair the jeans with a nice dress shirt and coat with nice shoes you could get away with it. It is the rage in Hollywood right now.

Dressy means a suit or cocktail dress at the minimum. No denim, leather or khaki.

Of course not, unless you want to look like a fool. Will other people do it? Possibly, but that doesn't mean it's ok. If you can't be bothered to take the same amount of time and wear a skirt, slacks or a dress, then don't go. Better to be overdressed than to be Britney Spears.
