A Kennedy tool box. Or if that is too much money, get him a good quality rachet. I still have a ratchet made by Beta in Italy. That is the toughest ratchet I've ever owned. If you get him one of these two, he will have them until he retires. If you get him a tool box, don't forget to also give him a picture of you to put in it.

Could he use something like a very nice leather tool belt?
or
What about a good work jacket with his name embroidered on it?
or
A silver frame for his graduation diploma
or
A voucher for a lovely celebratory dinner - perhaps the beginning of a traditional annual celebration?
or
A graduation ring?

Talk to his teacher who knows him best and whom he has told you about as one he respects. In a technical matter like this, getting advice from people like a good teacher, is the best choice. the teacher would be able to suggest some tools that are suitable.

Congratulations to the two of you! I would give him a nice party and invite supportive friends and family. And buy yourself some nice lingerie in his favorite color to celebrate his accomplishments. God bless****
