It's from 'Gabrielle, Antony, Alison and James'. Who the heck are they? They've put my first name on the card so I know it is to me but I'm stuffed if I remember them. They have, however, put their address inside the card. So - Xmas card etiquette - do I reply to them (a) thanking them and wishing them well, or (b) thanking them and asking who the heck they are, or (c) ignoring them and hoping they will go away?

Being a hospitality manager i find it extremely frustrating that people can just walk off the street and go to a restaurant and feel like they can do whatever they want and obnoxious and rude as they want. I think people need to realize that people who work in restaurant, bars, etc. are providing a service and ARE NOT servants!

I was wraping a small gift for a party in the comic strip frm the news paper and this woman asked me if she should wipe her but with it first.
This woman constantly tells me I am stingy and other things because I am conservitive and do not owe any one anything. Even paid cash for the hous I live in. She never has enough money to last the month.
No I am not angry but I sure wish she would learn to keep her mouth shut some times.

I will not be able to find out where they were purchased on my own and so they will go to waste unless I ask. My girlfriend says I should not even think about mentioning this problem to the person who gave them to me. I think that the person would rather me enjoy the gift and would not mind. The giver is a client of ours, but we have a friendly relationship.

I love my fiance to death but he is a wicked slob. He leaves everything every where. Dirty clothes, Shoes, Cigarettes w/ lighter,
Dirty Dishes, Soda Cans, CD's, Coffee Cups Still Half Full Of Coffee, Plus dozens of other things. I got kids around here so I don't really want that stuff lying around the house, I mean what kind of example is that setting for them? Plus I don't want my house to look like the town dump. How can I approach the subject with him without causing a fight? He is an awesome person I just wish he were a cleaner person.....PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

I'm a graveshift (night) worker, and a friend of mine kept calling and calling on the phone when I was sleeping. (I only had 4 hours of sleep at that point and I was exhausted from work when I got home). I got really grumpy on the phone and hung up on her. Later, she apologized several times and almost started crying. It made me feel bad. I didn't curse her out or anything. I just answered the phone with a loud "WHAT?" Then she asked a question, and I said "WHATEVER" and hung up the phone. She knows I work nights and sleep during the day. I've done this in similar situations before as well. It just seems to me like some people don't understand that is when I sleep, even if I tell them several times. I do keep my phone on during the day in case of an emergency from family. However, I did get up the first time the phone rang to check the caller ID. Saw it was her ringing, and decided to go back to bed to call her later. She called 5 more times within 10 minutes.

There are certain situations that you can not excuse yourself and you can not hold it in for a long time and it just comes out. Sometimes it just comes out when you least expect it so why can't people just accept the fact that all of us are human and stop acting like they never done it before. If someone does it in front of me I will ignore it provided that they did not do it to be rude and said excuse me. Another thing why is it that women are expected not to pass gas but men can do it and no one thinks about. We are human too. If we can't do it men should not be able to do it and if men are allowed to do it women should be able to. What is up with the taboo of something that is naural and the sexism is so Victorian.

Would you help a runaway if they just showed up at your doorstep, hungry, cold, and scared?

If so, how would you?

If you're gunna say, "Depedns on why they ran away."
They ran away b/c they only had one parent and he/she abused them...(Really bad, and they could prove it to you), would you help them?? How??

I work in a medical office. Every year for the holidays, the doctors in our office go in together to buy all of the nurses the same gift (most of the doctors are of a different religion but want to give us something anyway) they spend about 10 dollars a piece for each nurse- there are 6 of us. This year, we all got small lotion sets that were very nice. But, each doctor then went and bought something extra for each of their individual nurses (one nurse got a $200 gift certificate, and several others received certificates for over $100). I was the only nurse who did not receive anything else from my doctor (he does not celebrate Christmas either but I did buy him a very nice holiday gift) I spend many extra hours there working for him and have been like his personal asst for 2 years- I do everything for him. I hate that I am upset about this- I mean, he did do the lotion set, I think I just thought that he would get me something special for all of my hard work. Am I wrong?

My cousin is arriving at the airport at 12:30 in the morning. I am the closest relative to the airport, but his mom, who is 2 hours away from the airport, has a car and could pick him up. But I was asked to please get him at the airport, and I pretty much have to because it's Christmas time and he is family.

I personally think it's impolite to arrive at the airport in the middle of the night without first checking with the person who is going to pick you up before you book the ticket. Needless to say, this situation frustrates me. How do you think you would react?

I've never understood this. And it's not just slobs who are doing it. MANY people just don't pick up their trash as they exit. I usually leave after the credits have rolled and the lights have gone on, and you should see the incredible mess! It's as if it has become acceptable behavior ... it's okay to do it because the staff is there to clean it up. This same thing happens on school campuses. I am a high school teacher, and you should see the mess after lunch. I've even asked students I see leaving trash behind: "Would you do that at home?" They look sheepishly at me and say no, and then pick up their trash and throw it away. Anyway ... thanks for letting me share my pet peeve.
