I will not be able to find out where they were purchased on my own and so they will go to waste unless I ask. My girlfriend says I should not even think about mentioning this problem to the person who gave them to me. I think that the person would rather me enjoy the gift and would not mind. The giver is a client of ours, but we have a friendly relationship.

Work it out yourself. You know these people, we don't.

Sheesh.

on the easy question, no. i might basically settle for it graciously, and prefer it or no longer, use it despite if it quite is in any way useful. in any different case, i might evaluate regifting it, yet no longer interior the comparable circle (so unique giver would possibly in no way locate out). maximum shops provide you a modern receipt you may provide with the present. Then the guy can do their own returning in the event that they opt to, and the giver won't in any respect understand. you ought to try this, and then your in-regulations can spend the time. i think of the present basket is a huge thought. no person will refuse that. (i wish.) yet another answer may be to ask your husband or better half's father to sound out your m-i-l as to what she might relatively like.

Politely tell the giver that you love your Christmas gift,
but there is a problem, both gloves are left handed.

If mentioned in an open and friendly, maybe even humorous, manner I see no reason why the person should get upset about anything. You're simply seeking to exchange them for a pair that fits both hands.

are you sure the gloves weren't meant to be used on either hand? I mean, I wouldn't want you to embarass yourself if that were the case. Sure, mention it to the client and add that you did plan to wear them and would just like to know where they were purchased or how you could solve this.

Yes, I'm sure they would be more than happy to exchange them. Or if they gave more gloves someone else may have two right ones, so each of you can get the correct pair.

I think graciously asking is not an issue, all while thanking them for the gift to begin with.

Just thank the giver and get rid of them.
