If you have money you do not have to work as much, so you have time to enjoy life.
If you have to work you have very little time to enjoy life.
It gives you the freedom to do what you really want to do.

Well for one thing the more money you have the easier life is. You have more opportunities to splurge and buy the things you want. Whereas if you don't have that much money or are on a tight budget you have to be a bit more careful with your spending. I think people want to have a lot of wealth so they could basically get everything they want. Most of the time it's never enough for them and they're never satisfied with what they have.
I guess if people were just satisfied with the things they had they wouldn't have to worry so much about constantly making a ton of money. Though I guess it's just human nature to always want to have more and more things.

I've met people in other countries making $600 a year happier in life than millionaires here.
Wealth is not a big deal, happiness is. If you are one that positively correlates the two, I'm sorry, but you'll never have enough.
For me, I'm working towards a job that Im so passionate about I'll be thrilled just to get in. I'm not sure what the pay I'll find out when I get my check.

Wealth used to determine a person or family's status hundreds of years ago. Now, its being revived. These days, it can get you everything. Just look at the hip hop and rap videos as proof, all the up-coming 'artists' are surrounded by luxuries and riches, and seem to 'have it all'. And us normal, average people buy into this idea, so people, especially teens, go out and buy their CDs, singles and merchandise to 'fit in', just like their music idol.
If we stopped caring about how large our bank accounts are (to a sensible degree of course), then we'd have more time to worry about more important things, such as our friends and family.
If you're religious, think about this. Do you really think God put people on earth so they can earn as much money as they possibly can, even if it takes their whole life time to do?

The love of money is the root of all evil, as found in the New Testament. Whoever you are hanging with is wacko. The rich go crazy teying to hold onto what they have and gettingmore. the stock market chrashes 100 pts and they lost millions.Happiness is A roof over your head, food in your stomach and a loving family around you. I know a man who would be alive today but instead of paying someone $50 to clean out his gutters he did it himself and fell off the roof. With stocks and rental properties he was worth $5 or 7 mill. He ruined white carpet trying to reload a printer cartridge with a straw (Black one at that) What happiness is that? JESUS said it is easier for a cmael to pass the the eye of a needle than for a miserly rich man to enter the KINGDOM OF HEAVEN

When Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence, the "freedom" to which he referred was financial. To owe others is enslaving. To have great wealth allows greater options. The less money you have, the less options you are given.

very simple, wealth creates envy. being the envy of others is the goal, not money. wealth does allow one to do many things, possess material things and live better (however you wish to define that), but it's the use of wealth that proves that we simply desire it b/c we wish others to envy us. wealth empowers one to create envy, and one who does not possess wealth are on the envying end of stick, so to speak. and the vicious cycle of envy continues, one who does not possess wealth will always envy those who do. Thus it is so apparent that wealth cannot create happiness, just the satisfaction of knowing someone or everyone envy's you.
