Should I return the Christmas cards that come to my address but not addressed to me and no one by that name lives here?

you read a card not addressed to you? If yes, don't return it. If no, return it to the mailman.
If you get completely bored you can use the internet to enter the name of the person it is addressed to and see if you could meet up for coffee at a local starbucks or something. Could be a great way to meet a new person and do a good deed at the same time... very much in the whole 'Spirit of the Season' thing...
good luck!

I think the nice thing to do is write Return To Sender Not At This Address on the envelope and put it back in the mail.

If you put the back in the mail box marked wrong address, they are supposed to be returned to sender, if there is a return address.

You should definitely send it back. I move around a lot and try to keep my forwards current but my cards don't always reach me...nor mine to my friends who also move.
You can write return to sender on the envelope, and if you opened it you can simply tape it back and write opened by mistake...a lot of people just open all the mail in their stack and don't check to see if all of it is yours...that is the post offices job!
I have gotten emails from people who have read my cards and seen my email address that have let me know that my card for 'xxx' did not reach its intended destination. Once, from a card sent to Australia, the person told me that he would try to get it to its intended destination..I never heard from that friend again tho...so unfortunatley moving around a lot means I lose contact with people. But I would appreciate knowing if my card didn't reach them rather than thinking they just don't care about me anymore...or wasting more postage on a wrong address next year.

I put them back in the mail; Return to Sender. YOU, apparently, think it wise to commit a federal offense by opening mail that wasn't addressed to you. You're going to jail for sure. Way to post your crime on the Internet.

uuhh, it is illegal to open mail not addressed to you. ACTUALLY, it is a federal offense. Technically, its illegal for anyone but the US Postal service to put anything in anyones mailbox with out permisson. Your best bet is to put it your box mark "forward to proper address" or return to sender. Just so ya know and don't end up in the pokey.

Write "not at this address" or something similar on it and put it on your mailbox so the letter carrier will pick it up. It will go back to the sender so they will know that they need to update their address records.
