I've know that my brother has been gay since he was 15 years old. I have no problem with it by my parents are like in denial about it. That was until yesterday, my parents were awa at the store and my brother and his bf were in his room doing what people in love do when my mom walked in. Seh just walked out and was really upset. me and my brother really ant them to be ok with his sexuality so how can we help them accept this??

I answered a question the other day. The asker was visiting my city and asked if the hotel she had chosen was central and well located. I told her that while it was central, the area was rough and as a female traveller she would be better looking for a hotel in a different part of the city centre. The result was that I got lots of thumbs down. She chose an answer approving her choice of hotel as the best answer and just said that she hoped the negative answers weren't true.

So why did she ask in the first place?

I thought the idea of religion was to help each other out. I tried to follow religion a long time ago, but couldn't keep it up what with so many bad things happening to innocent people. (Please dont send links to religious websites, as its too late now, so much for the promised land, the fighting hasnt stopped since that story was written)

why did he not just appear as a fully grown human? why would he have to BOTHER with all that growing up stuff, going to high school, teenage angst...all of that. why? this just does NOT make ANY sense at all...do you christians EVER really THINK about your beliefs? do you happen to know about all the other "virgin births" recorded in history? this was a common excuse for "illegitimate pregnancies"...did you know this?

My friend (A) has a friend (B) [who also happens to be his co-worker] who invited me and my friend (A) for his (B) birthday dinner. But my friend (A) suddenly has other plans. The thing is, I feel weird going alone since we're (me and B) not close or anything.

Did those 1st century Christians have a CHOICE about whether to teach circumcision or to abstain from fornication or to abstain from blood or to LISTEN to the direction given by the apostles and older men?

If one reads a verse and the surrounding verses then it cannot be taken out context. It sometimes seems to me that this is a convieniant excuse for when you don't know how else to answer. By the way many of you quote verses all the time and those could be out of context as well.

Sounds like he knew he was the son of god just like all of us should. Why are we so confined by an illusion of electrically bound atoms and quarks and limited by a brain capable of so much more. Why can't we act with the full power of god if we are made in that image and inherently gods ourselves?

Apparently, God the Father took it very nicely! He was "well pleased" Although, he said that he has no pleasure in anybody who dies! But what the heck, he is God and he can say anything he likes to fit the occasion. Now God is capable to forgive sins! The New Testament is saying that he is totally impotent to forgive anybody's sin unless his only begotten son is lashed, spat on, and crucified on a dirty... Oops! sorry, Holy Roman Cross! Doesn't that show you how primitive is the Bible God? and how silly was of Jesus to go around forgiving sins before he even died for anybody's sins?
