Apparently, God the Father took it very nicely! He was "well pleased" Although, he said that he has no pleasure in anybody who dies! But what the heck, he is God and he can say anything he likes to fit the occasion. Now God is capable to forgive sins! The New Testament is saying that he is totally impotent to forgive anybody's sin unless his only begotten son is lashed, spat on, and crucified on a dirty... Oops! sorry, Holy Roman Cross! Doesn't that show you how primitive is the Bible God? and how silly was of Jesus to go around forgiving sins before he even died for anybody's sins?

Watching.
"The New Testament is saying that he is totally impotent to forgive anybody's sin unless his only begotten son is lashed, spat on, and crucified on a dirty..."
Actually, if you read, a sacrafice was required for God to forgive your sins. This shows your faith in God. Instead of us having to sacrafice, Jesus sacraficed for us. Now, believing in Jesus (a sacrafice) shows your faith in God.
I think it is silly to think you have the upper hand and God should do you the favor of forgiving your sins for no reason.

Jesus was God. He was quite able to do miracles and forgive sins..You sound like the Pharisees..Then Jesus said which is harder to do the miracle of forgive sin? God being outside time and space already knew the outcome, felt every pain and emotion. Don't forget that Jesus is one third of the trinity.. God.

MARY NO COMPLAINT OF JESUS BIRTH & JESUS NONE FOR HIS DEATH
God was prepared to resurrect Jesus who commended his Spirit unto God Luke 23:46; Psm.104:29,30; as he created him.
So God was getting prepared to resurrect Jesus with such a great force of Spirit that the earth quaked,the temple veil was rent, and many saints were raised from their graves. Matt.27:50-53;
John 3:13-17; No one goes to heaven but Jesus who came down to go back and no one will go to be with him until the time of the end, at the last day.
Acts 2:27-35; Jesus raised up to be at the right hand of God until enemies Satan & 1/3 angels are cast down to have a short time in the end time 12:7-12; & Michael is also in the time of the end, to give Satan his short time.
Acts 13:30; And God raised him from the dead.
Acts 1:9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. 1:10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
