Who Created the Universe From Nothing?

With this triumph of the Big Bang, the thesis of an "infinite universe", which forms the basis of materialist dogma, was tossed onto the scrap-heap of history. But for materialists it also raised a couple of inconvenient questions: What existed before the Big Bang? And what force could have caused the great explosion that resulted in a universe that did not exist before?

Materialists like Arthur Eddington recognized that the answers to these questions could point to the existence of a supreme creator and that they did not like. The atheist philosopher Anthony Flew commented on this point:

Notoriously, confession is good for the soul. I will therefore begin by confessing that the Stratonician atheist has to be embarrassed by the contemporary cosmological consensus. For it seems that the cosmologists are providing a scientific proof of what St. Thomas contended could not be proved philosophically; namely, that the universe had a beginning.

Well, I was thinking of which kind. Every year we always just choose from what is left.

This year I want to do a bit of research.

What would be the best based on how good it looks when decorated and how long it will last? There is also the problem of mess, but we can deal with that.

We usually keep our christmas tree until new years is finished.

Should it be the grand or the noble?

Wonderful friend I have had since we were 4 years old lost her hubbie today--he was in La Paz, Mexico with his best friend on vacation. How do you expedite getting his body out of Mexico, it will be very expensive but could take 2 weeks??

I'm sorry to say this, but Greeks do not show a lot of respect for the elderly. Taxis avoid stopping when they see an elderly person with a cane looking for a taxi. Public transport expects the elderly to pay the full price for a ticket. The ticket inspectors will demand any elderly who has mistakenly lost or stamped the ticket more than once to pay a fine.

If they want to speak with an elderly person whom they do not know, they adress them as Grandma or Grandpa, not even caring if this bothers them or not... as if they don't have an identity of their own.

My mother is 75 years old and has to walk with a cane. she always tries to cross the roads as quickly as possible, but the pain makes her movements a bit slow. She has heard comments from drivers like... "Get out of the street old woman! "You should stay at home old woman!"

They make her cry. Why??!!!

Why does the christian god, tell us to be like him, and not to treat others like how we want to be treated and that Christ is our example but yet..he himself is so deadly
Bible is an extremely bloodthirsty book. It specifies, over and over, whole categories of people who should be killed (including children who curse their parents ... Exodus 21:17).
Are you aware that Jesus threatened to murder children (Revelation 2:23)?
II Samuel 12:15-20 tells the story of God killing an infant because it was the product of its parents' adultery.
Are you aware that your God has threatened (four different times, in four different books of the Bible!) to make people cannibalize their own children as a form of punishment? See:
(1) Leviticus 26:29; (2) Deuteronomy 28:53;(3) Jeremiah 19:9;(4) Ezekiel 5:10.
So is Jesus our God still our example or are we only supposed to do as he says ? cause it says to be like him many times in the NT, and why is he more kill happy in the OT then the NT, MPD ?

I had a decently serious relationship earlier in the year that ended after a few months but we somehow managed to salvage a friendship out of it even though it's apparent that on some level we do still have feelings for each other (even though we've dated other people and such). I admit I get slightly jealous when he dates people but it never bothers me too much but lately he's been doing something that's been really pissing me off. He's been actively pursuing my ex's, and current guys I'm talking with SPECIFICALLY after he hears about them from me. I don't talk to him about guys I'm flirting with anymore for this reason. It puts a wedge in me and guys I'm flirting with and to top it off, a few times he's swooned a guy or two away from me. He just has this weird charm about him. It's starting to piss me off because I just want him to go out and find his own men for gods sake. It makes me twice as jealous to see him with a guy I liked. Has anyone else ever encountered this with an ex?

Christians and Muslims? I mean considering most of us know what it was like to be uneducated and ignorant at one time(If we were ever theist to begin with) Should we just bear with them until they decided to educate themselves? Do you think they both could stem from the same mind disorder? I mean obviously not all Theist's are pedophiles, just like not all Muslims are terrorists. But considering the representatives of the religions and statistics, 99% of pedophiles believe in some form of God. Also Pastors,Priests, Muhammed etc. Do you think there Is a correlation between believing in a god and pedophilia ?

Note: For any Muslims who get offended by me calling Muhammad a pedophile, can you explain to me how consumating a marriage with a 9 year old isn't pedophilia?

They are hard working people who are earning a living. They earn decent money... and do have a life. They probably earn more than the average person (although they work 55 hours a week).

If they don't like the question, why do these ppl answering and insulting the asker. they can just skip it to next question..so what's wrong with it??Many persons have many question in their mind even if it sound so funny to other, and when the language is not their mother tongue sometimes they can make any mistakes, so I thought we must respect them to try to speak it..How about you guys...insulting is part of lack of morality???
