Nature had it that man should be for woman and vice-versa. Taking this thesis as God's plan, does not the idea of same sex marriage a manifestation of total perversion that resulted from deliberate alteration of what was originally planned for humankind?

Have we slipped so far down on the humanity scale, where people just don't care about each other anymore?
Today in Portland,Oregon, thieves stole all four tires, off of a van, that was used to deliver' Meals On Wheels', to elderly and shut-ins.
Where is the religious influence on the communities? !t appears pretty much non existent.
In stead of news stories about robberies, and murders, why can't they give us a story about someone doing something exceptional like returning stolen money, or a wallet, or something nice for the community, just to remind us, that there are good folks out here, Somewhere?
Do these kinds of things happen in your state?
Doesn't it break your heart??

VATICAN CITY — Pope Benedict XVI told Irish bishops Saturday that instances of sexual abuse committed by clergy were "egregious crimes," and urged them to urgently rebuild confidence and do whatever necessary to prevent future offenses.
In his first comments on the subject since becoming pontiff last year, Benedict said the wounds inflicted by sexual abuse "run deep." The remarks were made to bishops from Ireland where the Catholic Church has been gravely damaged by massive sex abuse scandals.
"In the exercise of your pastoral ministry, you have had to respond in recent years to many heart-rending cases of sexual abuse of minors," the pontiff said. "These are all the more tragic when the abuser is a cleric."
"The wounds caused by such acts run deep, and it is an urgent task to rebuild confidence and trust where these have been damaged," Benedict said."it is importan

Matthew 28:19 and 2 Corinthians 13:14 are instances of this. Neither of these texts says that Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are coequal or coeternal or that all are God. The Scriptural evidence already presented on pages 408-412 argues against reading such thoughts into the texts.
McClintock and Strong’s Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological, and Ecclesiastical Literature, though advocating the Trinity doctrine, acknowledges regarding Matthew 28:18-20: “This text, however, taken by itself, would not prove decisively either the personality of the three subjects mentioned, or their equality or divinity.” (1981 reprint, Vol. X, p. 552) Regarding other texts that also mention the three together, this Cyclopedia admits that, taken by themselves, they are “insufficient” to prove the Trinity. (Compare 1 Timothy 5:21, where God and Christ and the angels are mentioned together.)

Rather than be born of a mortal like so many other demigods pre dating Christianity?

Ex. Hercules Son of Zeus and Alcmena(Mortal),
Minos Son of Zeus and Europa(Mortal)
Achilles was the son of the mortal Peleus and the Sea Nypmh Thetis.

I mean considering that it was very common for Gods to be born of Mortals especially in Greek and Egyptian religions. I mean there are only very limited accounts of his youth(Much like other religions) and then it jumps ahead 20+ years and goes straight into what he accomplished as a man(Much like other religions). Wouldn't it have been smarter to write the character of Jesus as simply coming to earth rather than having him be born to a mortal and a God like so many other pre existing religions of the time?

Atheists simply don't believe in any gods. They may regard theism as nonsense, or they may simply not care. They may regard religion as harmful and religious institutions as dangerous, or they may not care. Atheists are all different, and simply knowing that someone is an atheist does not entitle one to make assumptions about their opinions regarding religion, politics or anything else for that matter.

Do Atheists celebrate Christmas? Please don't tell me that Christmas isn't a Christian holiday, I am well aware of that. It is however a Pagan holiday, which makes it a religious holiday. Why is it okay to celebrate a Pagan holiday, but be against anything "religious".

I was thinking about maybe going door to door and leaving a little card in the crack with a picture of a guy watching tv. The subcaption would be something like "It's your Sunday, enjoy it!... find out how at, godisimaginary.com"

You know what I mean. I was thinking about a television ad too... something entertaining and informational at the same time.

Look at so many of the answers by other atheists. You complain that christians are judgemental and intolerant and so many atheists actually agree with this kind of thinking. Please restore my faith in the normal everyday atheist out there and tell me you cant really think like this.
