Have we slipped so far down on the humanity scale, where people just don't care about each other anymore?
Today in Portland,Oregon, thieves stole all four tires, off of a van, that was used to deliver' Meals On Wheels', to elderly and shut-ins.
Where is the religious influence on the communities? !t appears pretty much non existent.
In stead of news stories about robberies, and murders, why can't they give us a story about someone doing something exceptional like returning stolen money, or a wallet, or something nice for the community, just to remind us, that there are good folks out here, Somewhere?
Do these kinds of things happen in your state?
Doesn't it break your heart??

Like was said before me, don't turn to religious influences, turn to moral influences. I am an atheist myself and I would say that I have more morals that most people of religion do. I am good because it feels good to be a good person. Not because I am afraid of what "god" might think. The reason good stuff doesn't turn up on the news is because most of society finds the bad things that happen more entertaining. Blame the media for that one.

You want to know why about 95% of people are in jail right now (number isn't accurate but pretty close). It has to do with drugs or some sort of drug related incident. People steal to get money for drugs. People kill because they didn't get paid for their drugs. Drugs are what bring down society, not lack of religious people.

2 Timothy 3:1-7
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of YHWH; Having a form of reverence, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

What broke my heart was the other night I ordered a pizza. Who knocked on my door to deliver? Nothing but a 70+ yr old grandma, hunched over and all holding my pizza.

Everythings wrong with society, i dsagree with you that it needs a religious influence though. Whether it does or does not have a religious influence stuff like what yoou describe will still happen. The reason why is because people are just selfish, vile, worthless assholes that care only about themselves and have no regard for the rest of us.

I don't see an isolated bad thing happening as being a reflection on society as a whole just on the people who perpetrated the act. People have always done bad things - even when most of them were religious. With your president still willing to kill people in the name of God it surprises me that you think religion somehow makes for a nicer world.

loss of private accountability. This has led to an entitlement mentality: the theory that each and every individual is entitled to a great style of reward devoid of having earned them. One needed step in direction of fixing it is to get the people who're perpetuating this falsehood out of place of work. vote casting can do this. yet another step is to coach people approximately how the liberal media are feeding this fake concept.

One of the big problems is homophobia. Not only does this immoral behavior lead to harm for gay people, but it also causes those caught up in this sin to feel they are superior to others. It hardens their hearts and makes them more concerned about judgment and condemnation of gay people and our supporters. Everything else is minimized and ignored while all attention is focused on hoisting homosexulity to the status of Super Sin. Anti-gay Christians perpetrate acts of spiritual terrorism against gay Americans instead of acts of charity and kindness to others. The Golden Rule takes back seat to reviling gay people and legislating discrimination. Homophobia sets the stage for many other social problems. Homophobia is dangerous to our society and those caught up in this sinful lifestyle should repent instead of trying to justify it.
