I have an important question please. Both my fiancee and I are Roman Catholic although we are not practising our faith the way we should like going to church on Sundays. However, we do believe in God of course.

We are trying to get married in a United Church instead of a Catholic Church because it is much simpler and closer to our hearts.

I have 2 questions. Can we get married in an United Church? If yes, what are the things we would have to do in order to be eligiable?
(for example with Catholic Church we'd have to take counseling, attend on Sundays etc.)
Thank you kindly!

Take Robin from america's next top model. the christian one who kept on calling on Jesus for every problem. the snake on the photoshoot, the arguement, etc.

Im pretty sure there are more people like this who call on Jesus or god for every little problem. And my question is if you've ever wondered if god gets tired of it? You know like if he's like "solve your own problems wont ya? If I gave you a working brain its for a reason."

I dont know, I just think anybody after a while would wish people would take responsibility and handle their own problems. I mean Id be pissed if I was god and I had to deal with all their problems. do you agree?

you know like shouldnt it be a sin to call on him for every little thing?

I wonder why God give us a rational brain, what do you call the brain sick ,it mean you cannot see your future n afraid to face death, you don't have a goal, why do you live what is the fact of life, there a song said life is short,it just vanish in a moment, like cloud, also like water fall, nobody can hold it,Life is accually forever, get eternity or fall to the dark, there you have to face alone,do you have the confident?life does matter short or long,is the things inside of you..........I feel the most important to you is to fear God,knowing God is the begining of wisdom.God love everyone, but you should go to the true God.I respect others religion, but I believe in my God Jesus christ only n forever.i am lucky I am a chinese ,I can choose to believe Jesus,I am free in my religion thinking, that is God grace.I just try to tell,Jesus love you n die for you, believe him you will have a eternity life.even you die,you soul will go heaven praise Lord thank you.

I really have come to despise a lot of Christians over my life. Many who have never been in my shoes or of those similar to me. Simply saying "it is a choice" and that "God will change you" and "just pray about it" offend me now. After living in this world for 35 years and being bisexual for 24 of these years with 15 of them as a born again Christian I do not believe it is a choice, God has NOT changed me or many others that I know and prayer has been useless on this.

Christians are you so naive that you cannot comprehend that same sex relationships is just as real as opposite sex? I know scriptures just as well as you. What is up with all the hate and arrogance?

Jesus was sent to die because God love the WHOLE world. Not just you. He loves EVERYONE. What is up with the harshness towards homosexuality when child abuse isn't deal with so harshlessly, I don't see the same harshness with drug and alcohol abuse, I don't see the same with smoking, or many other sins?

I remember as a child one Halloween sitting on my sister's lap in the kitchen at the farm. I remember we didn't have a TV, but we had a radio and one of the stations had a special because it was Halloween. I realize now that the original broadcast had happened in the 1930's, but this was like about 1952 and I remember the program that was one even though I was about 4. I just wonder if anyone else heard it. Maybe not then, but before 1952.

This was what it was and it's all here... http://www.earthstation1.com/pgs/radio/dos-War_of_the_Worlds.ram.html

Today, I approached a woman on a street corner in Houston. She was begging for money and looked so sad. I told her that God was real and He loves her and he can give her life. I am not sure of all my words, because they just seemed to flow and I normally hate talking to strangers. I get all nervous and shaky. Anyway, it ended with us both crying and her name is Mary could someone pray for her too. She is addicted to crack and she needs to be delivered from this.

Why is it that Atheists are starting to refer to Christians as “delusional” or as having committed “intellectual suicide?” Calling someone who disagrees with you “dumb” only serves to offend them.
I would like ask why does this group of people, who considers themselves intellectually informed, use such tactics?

We have a female cat at the store I work at in the patio and she keeps having kittens. We have managed to catch some of the kittens and give them away, but sure enough, she always has more. She is wild and won't let anyone get near her. The trap we set is useless because she won't get near it. We need to get rid of her. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm kind of wondering here.
If I ask a question like "why is homosexuality wrong", I'll get dozens of answers from Christians who point to various verses in the Bible.
However, when I asked about specific verses in the Bible that support Catholicism, nothing.

I recently asked why, when conservatives argue that homosexuality shouldn't be protected because they believe it to be mutable, religion, which IS mutable, should remain protected. Only three answers so far, and not one cogent Christian response.

Is there a commandment that says "Thou shalt not answer difficult questions"? I've read the Bible a number of times, but I missed this one.

Or is it that such questions make people think, and that's too much work?

I'd really like to discus some of the tough ones. If I'm really off base, I'd like to know. Perhaps I'm expecting too much to think that others might like to discover he same about their own beliefs.

A sweet, shy, soft-spoken friend who is usually quiet starts opening up to you one day, talking for a few minutes about some family things going on. Once she finishes talking to you, she pauses for a minute and realizes how much she has been talking, then apologizes to you for "rambling" so much.

What would you think?

Please keep in mind that these people are absolutely sincere in their practice and honestly believe they are obeying God and his Word in the Bible. People I know who know snakehandlers say they are some of the most peace-filled people they know.

Religious snakehandling has been banned in many states across the south EXCEPT for West Virginia. Are the other states engaging in religious discrimination?

Instead of debating evolution, should we just vote on it?

Here are the items on the ballot:

A)
we came from turtles, which came from mustard seeds, which were invented by God. God came from Mexico.

B) There is no conceivable alternative to A.
