I never claimed he was an atheist, but he was not a Christian either. Just because you take the name of something does not mean you are what you claim to be especially if you pervert the teachings of what you take. Hitler was no more a Christian than Richard Dawkins is today.

Whatever he specifically said on the subject of his beliefs - which changed over the years - he maintained more or less to the end that a higher power (Providence or God) was driving him to save Germany. He was affilliated with the Catholic church and remained in good standing with it but also later railed against Christians for being in league with the Jews, although he never admitted that Jesus was also a Jew. Interesting contradictions...what does it really say about him? Was he simply maniputlating religious organisations and by extent the people, regardless of what his private beliefs really were?

What does it matter what religion he was? He was a brutal person, I don't think it matters whether he was an atheist or a Christian or a Muslim or a Buddhist.
Do you know that the Jews have labeled the WW2 Pope as an honorable man, because he worked to save many Jews and personally saved like 20,000 from death. I have a Jewish friend and she spoke favorably of this Pope. Mind you the Catholic Church was under immense pressure, being in the heart of Italy which was an Axis state.

Because it's a bit embarrassing for them to admit that you can be religious and Hitler at the same time. They also "forget" that many Nazi dignitaries escaped justice with the help of the church in 1945 -1946.

Hitler maintained a nominal belief in God; but the atrocities he committed were a direct result of atheistic and evolutionary teaching. One of the greatest influences in his desire to create the superman race was Frederick Neitchze.

While I agree that the Catholic Church were scalawags and scoundrels in Europe and Hitler may have been a Catholic at one time: The Nazis HATED Christianity and only tolerated the dull occultism of Himmler.

They lie about Hitler's religion because they don't want their beliefs to be associated with the most infamous and notorious mass murderer of all time. It's just a blatant lie though, and if you read Hitlers transcripts, you can see frequent religious references.
