Why does the christian god, tell us to be like him, and not to treat others like how we want to be treated and that Christ is our example but yet..he himself is so deadly
Bible is an extremely bloodthirsty book. It specifies, over and over, whole categories of people who should be killed (including children who curse their parents ... Exodus 21:17).
Are you aware that Jesus threatened to murder children (Revelation 2:23)?
II Samuel 12:15-20 tells the story of God killing an infant because it was the product of its parents' adultery.
Are you aware that your God has threatened (four different times, in four different books of the Bible!) to make people cannibalize their own children as a form of punishment? See:
(1) Leviticus 26:29; (2) Deuteronomy 28:53;(3) Jeremiah 19:9;(4) Ezekiel 5:10.
So is Jesus our God still our example or are we only supposed to do as he says ? cause it says to be like him many times in the NT, and why is he more kill happy in the OT then the NT, MPD ?

You are no real apologist, you take verses out of context and use them to support your ideas, even if they really do not mean what you have said they mean.
Exodus 21:17, To curse the father and mother would be an outright rejection of their teachings and the intent to undermine them at every opportunity. This would have terrible consequences for the whole people group and so the person can not be allowed to endanger the whole trible of Israel.
Revelations 2:23, This is a metaphor for how the church in Thyatira is acting, by sleeping with the harlot Jezebel. God is saying that he will remove all of those and all that they have done in judgment.
II Samuel 12:15-20, A lesson to King David because he had been proud and believed himself to be above the law. God reminded him that he is not. The child itself is innocent and will be taken up to heaven and because of this David is able to reconnect with God.
The verse about eating children are all related to a siege, in which the children are more likely to die first and the parents will eventually run out of food. Notice also how God each time says how horrific it is to have to do this. God does not want to but because people chose to disobey them this is one consequence of their actions.
God is more "kill happy" in the Old Testament because the line of Abraham must be preserved so that his promise of a savior from the line of Abraham can be fulfilled. He must take extreme actions to see that the line is not corrupted or wiped out. Once Christ came then that requirement is met and the need to go to overwhelming measures to protect the line of Abraham is not needed.

Out of curiosity can you point out many more of the good things the bible professes. You speak of punishment as a bad thing.Your examples are misconstrued also.
Punishment is necessary, and we are not talking about sneaking into the fridge and taking a sip of dad's beer, but things that are truly damnable to your spirit. How would you punish/threaten someone to guard against doing something that may damn their eternal soul.
Jesus also never says he will kill anyone until the day of his reckoning when every creature will be laid low, from the foul of the air to the beast of the lands and sea.
Delve a little deeper, perhaps a bible concordance and /or a minister can help claify these things for you.Good luck and God Bless

the answers is yes God does practice what he preaches, and yes Jesus is our example. But no Jesus is not God Almighty but his first born as stated manytimes in the bible.
What you have left out is the many times God used angels and profets to warn not just the nation of Israel but other nations about their way of life. God used the nation of Israel to kill off many nations because of Baal worship.
Those that don't know what that is, it is sacerficing children (alive) into a melting pot to that God. This type of false worship angerd the one true God , and after repeated warnings sometimes over hundreds of years, enough was enough. In killing infants, and children, you need to understand those infants were (infected) with false teaching. It had to be wiped out.
Lets actually concider the entire text of the scriptures, and point out why God did what he did and they way he did it.

Well Jesus was not of the Old Testament Establishment of Religion. He was an Essence. So much of the Old Testament , though He had knowledge of its writings, most likely did not agree with the savageness and made change.
The old way led with Fear, the new way leads with Love.
That is why vain religion and philosophy was nailed to cross thousands of years ago. All that is left is our false science and magic , that will be Mankinds undoing, just like Atlantis and Lemuria. Somethings change and some things stay the same.

God is absolute righteousness and is not in need of a law nor is he under the law. The law is the righteousness of God and no man could live up to it. this is the reason the Son became flesh. Yes Jesus the Son overcame temptation, sin and death as a man under the law.

A very vague question, but I will say that the instances that you have cited of God condoning cannibalism refer to prophetic curses should they not obey God or due to their disobediance, not commandments. And the Revelation passage is talking about the whore of Babylon.

Yes of course if he is a true christian and in a true christian religion.
But you are very wrong on your comment against God. You merely did not understand the words of God in the bible. Stop talking nonsense if you are ignorant about the bible. You will soon know it.

Okay, so there's this thing called the "law." If we as humans do not follow the law, the result is death. Condemnation. So, in the Old Testament, God is punishing us for not following his law. You know, the whole "God's wrath" thing. Then He gives us a promise, a promise that he will send his son, Jesus Christ, as our savior. Then, it is Ephesians 2:8-9- "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast." So it is by God's grace and love for us that he sends us his son, and through vicarious atonement, he makes satisfaction for our sins. Is that not the supreme example of love? He sends us his only son to die for OUR sins.
And it is through faith in the promise, through faith in Jesus Christ, that we receive God's grace.
So, I would definitely say "our God" practices what he preaches.
