I bought and sent a friend of mine an H&M £20 gift voucher for her birthday. I rang her that night to wish her a Happy Birthday. She never mentioned about my voucher, so I asked her if she got it. She said, "Yeah, but I couldn't be bothered to ring to let you know".

What do you think? Islam does not allow mistreatment of women. But the so called "islamic" countries have taken a little bit of Islam (the parts that suit the men) and a lot of the culture (the parts which are anti woman), mixed it together, and labeled the whole concoction Islam. How do you feel about this quote?

""The believers who show the most perfect faith are those who have the best character and the best of you are those who are best to their wives" (Tirmidthi)."

It could not be the ancient city of Babylon. Revelation was written at the end of the first century C.E. and describes events that would reach down to our day. The Encyclopedia Americana says: “The city [Babylon] was taken by the Persians under Cyrus the Great in 539 B.C. Later Alexander the Great planned to make Babylon the capital of his eastern empire, but after his death Babylon gradually lost importance.” Today the city is an uninhabited ruin.
In the symbolism of Revelation, Babylon the Great is referred to as a “great city,” a “kingdom” that rules other kings. (Rev. 17:18) Like a city, it would have many organizations within it; and like a kingdom that includes other kings in its domain, it would be international in scope. It is described as having relations with political rulers and contributing much to the wealth of men in commerce, while itself being a third element that “has become a dwelling place of demons” and a persecutor of “prophets and of holy ones."

"People gave ear to an upstart astrologer who strove to show that the earth revolves, not the heavens or the firmament, the sun and the moon. Whoever wishes to appear clever must devise some new system, which of all systems is of course the very best. This fool [or 'man'] wishes to reverse the entire science of astronomy; but sacred Scripture tells us that Joshua commanded the sun to stand still, and not the earth."

- Martin Luther, in reference to Copernicus.

My gf & I plan to get married next year. But we come from different churches, she is a cath while I'm SBC. We want to go on our own beliefs without interfere each other.

In which church do you suggest for couple like us to perform the wedding ritual? Neither SBC & Roman Catholic Church supports that kind of marriage.

I was just looking at questions in the R&S section when to the left of the questions I see an advertisement inviting people to immerse themselves in the world of Harry Potter. I followed the link to http://harrypotter.yahoo.com/. Now I for one know that Harry Potter has absolutely nothing to do with pagan or neo-pagan beliefs but there are those that don't see Harry Potter as merely children's literature and for entertainment only. So my question is, does it offend others that in the R&S section there is an advertisement for Harry Potter?

How many of you seniors (55 & above) have gotten a notice from Yahoo that you got a violation? I did! Just because I stated: "You would think a high school senior would know proper grammer. Dah!" Most people would feel a HS senior would know proper grammer or at least be able to use spell check. Guess that HS senior, that reported me, was a bit p*#*#*off. But then the question wasn't a very nice one either.
I earned my stripe and proud of it-Thanks to a HS senior who is clueless in grammer. Go ahead! Report me again.

A prophet who did not speak directly to God must have had God's written word to guide him. Muhammad clearly did not agree with Jesus as the Son of God therfore could not have believed the Gospel that was available to him.
Muhamamd did however believe that Jesus was the Messiah.
So surely Muhammad must have had a written word of God that said Jesus was not the Son of God and that Jesus was Messiah. If Muhammad did not have a written word such as this then Muhamamd must have disagreed with the word of God that was available to him. Moses said a prophet of God must agree with the word of God and the prophets of God.
This makes perfect sense it would be hard to be a prophet of God and not agree with God. Now If Muhammad did not agree wiht the word of God seems to reason for whatever reason he may have had it would still be impossible to be a prophet of God. now if there is a book available that states Christ is Messiah who did not atone for sin with the prophet of both Old and New

Is is, right? And have we not given all privilidge and power acknowledgement to a creative force of IS we all call God? And did not God create that which is before us, imagined or not, including Satan and Evil and Hate and Lord and Good and Love? In reality, does not God know everything and be present everywhere?

This happened to me a couple of months back, I was in Bible study, I had just been Baptised a few weeks before and as the Minister was speaking, I had this urge to take off all my clothes and run around the Church screaming Jesus, Jesus, Jesus! It was something that I just felt led to do? I was fighting the idea and then told my home cell leader what God was "telling" me to do. She said no I should rather leave it. Now I feel maybe I should have listened as God would of seen my obedience to his word? What would you have done... I was definately led by the Spirit.

I know it sounds hectic but I have to share and get your thoughts.

Bless You!
*H*
