I completely agree with "Bad Liberal".
I think educating young minds (and of course everyone else too) is a divine action. Atheism is not evil so how could it lead to anywhere. But I would suggest don't stop with atheism, you must promote education of many religions to be fair (not to the religions but to the mind you are molding). It will free their minds and it will promote tolerance.
But that threatens some people.

Freeing minds and promoting tolerance are good things that should be done more in this world. You can explain atheism but just like explaining religion it is meaningless...it is all based on what the person believes
but none of this leads anyone or anything to hell

Well, explaining atheism isn't leading them to anything. It's just a description of a point of view. If a young person arrives at atheism it's because it's what they're left with once they've realized how absurd the alternatives are.

We present all the facts at our disposal to the child and let them decide. This is a very personal thing that cannot be decided for them.
But is is ALL the facts that I know. The beliefs of the various religions and the idea that there may not be any god or gods at all.
Without the brainwashing, they usually see which makes sense.

I think asking questions and sharing experiences and beliefs promotes tolerance. Fear of the unknown or lack of understanding causes hate and intolerance. I encourage young people to search for their own answers and always ask "why"

I certainly do not believe that God would strike down a child for the actions, or inactions of the parent. I believe in allowing children to decide when they want to learn about religion. Be there for them if they have any questions you are "qualified" to answer and don't browbeat them to accept your faith. You may win the battle ... but you may not!

dont try to explain it in words. children will basicalyl beleive anything you say, especially from their mother. instead raise the children with your values. take them to experience church and worship if you wish. but make sure you also expose them to children that are not raised in (the same or any) religion. Promote your children having friends of other faiths, and punish them if they say inapropriate things and reward them if they dont.
The rest they will figure out for themselves. Note that this entire process takes years, and taking them to a jewish templ

There is no hell. So obviously the first options are the only ones worth mentioning.

Yes, look how "tolerance" is working for Hollywood.
These actors (not all) are free thinking tolerant lost souls. Divorce, drugs, depression. Life without God leads one to misery.
There is one way for us to be saved, through Jesus the Christ.
