I was eating dinner at the table with hubby's family when his aunt (whom I'd never met before )says to me,"You know, you're very pretty!"..I smiled and said "thank you"..She then says"Are you mixed with something?".I was so taken a back by this silly b*tch that I didn't say anything. My closet racist mother in law then replies"Yes,she's an eighth Indian,Isn't that right?"............I lost my apetite I was so pissed and speechless I just sat and sipped my soda the rest of the meal! I do NOT look mixed I have dark brown skin and thick lips! What should I have said?

But is quite happy to send offensive remarks and be openly racial to people who are adult enough to stand up to their convictions?

Can't she take the heat? Is she a terrorist? All mouth until it gets hot, and then scurries off to her little hideaway?

But which will ultimately triumph?

How come when people ask questions about being a Christian and loving god or Jesus, all the none Christians swarm too the question and try to state that we are "wrong". Are those atheist and other none Christians "jealous" or something. Are they that concerned about being right and proving us wrong? It's just i believe that they swarm to these religious questions because the do not think that what they believe in is right and the feel better trying to make us wrong too.

My favorite is if your nose is itching, it means someone is talking about you. Don't know why, but I still beleive this.

I just found out that Deke's Y!A account was deleted last night. He has no plans, as of right now, to appeal it.

Despite what anyone thought, he brought funny and thought-provoking questions and answers to the table which earned him fans that were believers and non-believers alike.

So here's my question...is silencing the voices of atheists and other dissenting views on this site "doing God's work"? Is someone higher up really keeping score, or is the person keeping track a little closer to home?

Here's my family's problem: we go to a church with an average attendance on Sunday of 125 people. My wife and I are both plugged in as servants. I coordinate Wee Worship for the kids, serve as a Deacon, etc. My wife gets involved where needed. The problem for us is that we do not have any close friends from church despite our best efforts. We have invited people over for dinner and had other people's kids over for playdates with our two children. However, the offers never get reciprocated. We have never been invited over to anyone's house for anything. The only time we seem to hear from anyone is if they have a need for themselves or something at church. We are considering leaving this church to find one where we can truly bond with other couples. Is this a reasonable expectation for us to have or should we just be content as is? We have no issues whatsoever with the minister or the theology of the church.

Alongside a large road that I frequently travel are two churches, one Baptist and the other Presbyterian. On the billboard out fron on the Baptist church is the sentence," God is exclusive, not inclusive." Down the road a few miles, the Presbyterian church says "God is inclusive; who ever will enter may come." So, what do you think? Does God have a private club, or is He open to the public? And why do you think each denomination says what they do?

Why is it that Atheists are so willing to dump on other peoples religions far more than people who choose to follow a particular religion?

In my Bible , and most everyone else's , Rev. 22: 12-13..Has this as Jesus speaking when he says' "Behold, I am coming soon! and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. (13) I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End". I am sure the Jehovah's Witnesses will say that Jesus is not saying this..But, I think God would not have allowed so many of mankinds Bibles that represent him, show this as Jesus speaking..

i'm a 17 yr old girl. i have an elder sister and she's married for a yr. i've known my bro-in-law for years now. i know what happened was very wrong...but i couldn't help it. i had gone over to my sister's place...and since she lives in another state, i had stayed for a few days. i've always been very friendly with my bro-in-law. my sister had a night duty that day and we guys were talking the night away. i really didn't want to do it...but one thing led to the other and we had sex. i'm really guilty about it...we swore we'll never let it happen again tho we never told my sister about it. but the guilt always ate me after it. last week my sister came home...she loves me so much...i cried at her shoulders. both my mother and she were perturbed about it and asked me what was so wrong. but i knew it would break my sister's heart. my parents would be very disappointed. i don't want to ruin my sister's marriage. what do i do? the guilt it making me sick...please help me...

I just read the book by Marion Zimmer Bradley "The Mists of Avalon" and was intrigued at the end by how the worship of the Godess evolved into the worship Mary mother of Jesus at the end of the book.

Any opinions about this? Do you agree with that idea?
