Why did my mother in law's sister got murdered by a Black and Tan at the age of 3 in the 1920s here in N.Ireland?
Why is a pupil of mine dying, riddled with cancer aged 18?

It is unfortunate and very sad, but blaming God for death has no point. Death happens, and one of the problems of modern society is that death is pushed to one side.

Death is almost a taboo subject, yet an awareness of death is important if we are to live fully. Life and death go hand in hand, so we need to recognize the values that death can teach us, and not live an unbalanced life by anesthetizing ourselves to it.

Cancer is an evil illness that not everyone will be saved from (my stepmother was very fortunate but her first husband was unfortunately not. I should point out that if my stepmother hadn't have lost her first husband then I wouldn't have a brother now but that’s not the point). I wish I had answers to these types of questions and I wish I had some words of comfort to give you. You grieve for her and I'm sure you will for the rest of you life. The only answer I can give is that when Adam and Eve sinned much evil was released into the world. As time passes the degenerative nature of humanity (especially at a genetic level) will worsen and many more people will succumb to illnesses like your mother did. Man walks away from God, and then blames God for the bad things that have happened to him. I urge you not to rage against God but go to church and ask Him what His plans are for your life. Perhaps the death of your mother happened so that you would not waste your life and you would be spurned into action? I don't know your settings, your life and its context. The only ones who do are you and God. Ask Him what’s going on and be patient for an answer, you won't see it in anger.

May God's peace be with you brother.

When sin entered the world, so did sickness and death. It happens all too frequently, that people die early, and we all wonder why. What for? Sometimes, it is hard to understand.
In my own family, except this previous generation, no man got to live past the age of 50. Who can say? We still trust God to know what He's doing.
Your mother had 5 years more than mine did. I am grateful to have had that time, I bet you are also for yours.
I hope you feel better soon.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I pray that you will find strength within yourself and in the people around you who love you.

You can think about it a couple of different ways. First, you can say that God created this masterpiece of a world, put it into motion, and then lets the laws of nature and the free will of mankind do their things. If you want some help with this perspective, read "Why Bad Things Happen to Good People" by Harold Kushner.

Or you can accept that God has a Divine plan for all of us. We, as humans, don't necessarily understand it, and it may seem unfair. But if we trust it, then that helps us to deal with our grief. Losing someone you love still hurts, and you will miss them terribly. But you have to know that we all came from God, and to God we will have to return. It's not a choice.

I suggest you do something to honor your mother's memory: a donation to American Cancer Society, plant a tree to help replenish the earth, paint, write. Finding a way to deal with your loss therapeutically instead of letting the anger fester will help you find peace in time.

It is often asked why is there suffering in the world if God is all powerful and loving. Why doesn't He stop it? Can He or is He weaker than we think? Suffering can fall into three simple categories: emotional, mental, and physical suffering. But, there are a variety of causes for suffering: morally corrupt (evil) people, disease, earthquakes, floods, famine, etc.
There are different explanations for why God allows suffering, but none of them can satisfy everyone. Therefore, I will simply list various reasons offered to account for suffering and evil in the world.

At what age do you want your mother die due to ovarian cancer? 62, 72 or 82?

Would you like your mother to suffer 10 years, 20 years or 30 years more?
I don't want to see my mother suffer.........

Have you ask God, why did He let His only Son to die at his early 30's?

I am really sorry for your loss..
No one knows the reason why some people live and others die, and sometimes it seems that bad people get to live while good people are taken away from us.
I know how you feel, my Mother died when I was 6 years old and I've always wondered why she had to die so young (35 yrs. old).
Hopefully, they are in a better place and not suffering---that seems to help me accept it better.
God bless you---you are in my thoughts and prayers.

You're asking me to get inside God's head and give you an answer. Not possible. Why did He allow my dad to die in 2004 at the the age of 45? My dad was in intense pain from many medical problems and now he's in Heaven. I can't give you an answer to your question other than it was probably part of God's plan.
