Because if you lose your belief in god, you lose your belief in immortality in the form of the afterlife. Losing your belief in Peter Pan results in, well, nothing.

I don't believe either. I'm only human, and if I return to whence I came after I die, so be it. I would honestly rather do that, than enter the domain of some jealous, angry god.

Well, surely Peter Pan never grew up, but still he died of old age. On his death bed he said, "I maybe dying of old age BUT I refuse to grow up."

And I am sure that Peter Pan is in heaven right now, no doubt, because God is real and Peter was a good boy, even though he was a little childish.

Peter Pan is fiction. More and more archaeological evidence is being found supporting the Bible. Little things, like towns of the Bible, people of the Bible, that the ark existed. Even Jesus was mentioned in writings outside of the Bible. Translations of the Bible, matching what we have now, from thousands of years ago, are being found. I'm sorry, but to me, you're just in denial to find these bits of truth and deny the rest.

The Bible was penned of God, where as peter pan was penned by man. You can try all day long to convince people that black is white, but even if thousands believe it is still black at the end of the day.
