Who is "Us" ? Who is "we" ?
I'm sorry, your question is so badly written, I don't know what your complaint is...

As some above me have said. . .the hope to ridicule and to sway the beliefs of others. . .the very thing they say Christians do to them that they hate. I actually read an answer the other day when asked why there were not many Christians left on R&S a person (atheist) responded and said we have "converted" them all.
What one does not understand is that if you have a relationship with the Lord and have experienced Him in your life, no man can ridicule you with insults and poor attempts at humor and cause you to lose your faith. My faith is in my Lord.

When people act in a deluded fashion one tries to help them.
If you saw a confused person in the shopping mall, you'd help them, wouldn't you? Of course you would, because you're a christian, right?
If someone asked whether you heard what the big, pink, cuddly unicorn was saying and did you believe it in your heart, you'd point out that there is no unicorn, wouldn't you?
Of course, the last confused person in the mall I saw was helped by me, an atheist, while an Anglican minister and a dozen people wearing crucifixes hedged around the poor man and kept going.

Non-believers come here because they are convicted but don't even realize it themselves, so they come here to try to swade others into their philosophy and ideology, so that they won't feel bad.
They want to be able to do what they want with impunity, and cannot stand anyone who would list a set of what may be known as moral directives, tis why the world is becoming such a bad place.

The Lord was challenged many times. They tried to trick him against scripture, about doing miracles on the Sabbath. He told them in similar words, wouldn't you go rescue your sheep if it fell into a hole on Sunday?
Look at it like this:
There may be one lost soul out there that you reach, to lead to Jesus. May your faith never waiver. God bless.

I think it is because they believe they are right. Some do it out of youthful foolishness and others out of arrogance. We must be prepared to answer with mercy and love so as not to cause a greater diturbance( getting us nowhere.Remember when dealing with them" the tongue of the wise brings healing."

Perhaps they presently see inconsistancies in Christianity. Example; the unscriptural old testament is Genesis-Malachi, but the scriptural old testament is the law of Moses. Which one do many USA 'Christians' presently say and teach?

I notice that too.
They say they respect our beliefs, but deep down they don't.
It's like they can't stand to even see the Name Jesus or God.
It goes to show how Powerful The Lord really is.

My guess would be that Satan influences them into answering, insulting, criticizing. Many have been deceived into thinking that Christ did not even live. Many think that the Apostles did not witness the things that are written in the Bible but rather wrote them for other reasons (like power and riches).

I believe that they truly think they are right and we are wrong. They think we are wasting our time and are trying to help us to convert to their way of seeing things. Pretty similar to how Christians feel for them.

Every human being is programmed to seek truth.
By self questioning, they know truth.
All Christians were seekers of truth before they found Jesus
