Why is it that Atheists are so willing to dump on other peoples religions far more than people who choose to follow a particular religion?

The so-called atheists on Yahoo Answers are not atheists. An atheist has no religious beliefs, but, if you read a lot of the answers on Yahoo you would believe that atheists have specific religious beliefs, ie God does not exist, which is a religious belief.

For example if you asked a person who truly had no religious beliefs about God the answer, if there was one would be along the lines of, "The question is irrelevant since I have no religious beliefs."

Quite a lot of people have adopted the mantle of atheism specifically because they believe God does not exist.

Having a belief and having no beliefs is obviously different.

It's hard to validate your opinion against one religion when you follow another. None of them have any proof. This is quite hypocritical.

However, atheists are in the unique position of seeing the silliness in ALL religions, so their dissent is more valid. People tend to want to make valid arguments, so the religious keep their mouths shut about all the other religions out there. Well, except for one overly vocal group who will remain unnamed.

I have a problem with people telling my kids that they were created by some mythical being.

I have a problem with people saying they'll suffer for eternity if they don't find god.

I have a problem with people wanting to tell them evolution is wrong.

I have a problem with wars being fought over religious idealism.

I have a problem with governments being pushed to pass legislation because of faith based issues rather than the common good and human rights.

I have a problem with the judgemental nature of religions.

..........along with a few other issues. :)

I live in a secular society where few people practice religion so I find it difficult not to condemn a lot of religious beliefs. Religious fundamentalism is something that is completely alien to me and difficult for me to accept.

WWWWHHHHAAAAT? Try me on that one more time, please?

The Thirty Years' War. The Holocaust. The Inquisition. The Crusades. Atheists have yet to start a single holy war (call it "against our nature"). Who's flinging religious feces, again?

In terms of authorship and content, this question is totally UNRELIABLE in telling us about the attitudes of atheists towards theists. This guy's tone clearly shows that he is not a good mood, he hates atheists and really needs counseling, and even if he IS in a good mood, his statement cannot be trusted. SO THERE.

Surely you are joking. You cannot be so naive as to believe that this is true. Perhaps you are just a troll.
