Hello? Look at which part of the world Jesus came from - the likelihood that he himself was white is pretty small I'd say.
Artistic depictions of Jesus and disciples say rather more about the racial assumptions and maybe racism of the ARTISTS, not of the people they are painting. Remember also that Christ in art is often intended as a form of evangelism, and maybe the artists were intending to tap into a particular market - ie an artist from a predominantly white country would tend to paint white people. In the time when most of the so called great religious paintings were done there wasn't so much mixed race mingling, just as there wasn't in the time of Christ. Not all that many Boeing 747s - made it a bit more challenging.

You know Jesus and the Disciples didn't do a sitting for The Last Supper. The person pointing out that they were all Jewish was making that the point that as they come from the Middle East that's what they would have looked like - dark skinned, dark haired.

You are justified in wondering why an Ethiopian was as white as an Italian... it has to do with the history of the early church. The images of Jesus and the disciples reflected the cultures in which they were created. The early ROMAN church had Jesus look like a young ITALIAN man. The pictures of Jesus and his disciples portray him as BLACK in Africa... "Russian" in Russia, etc. Ultimately, if there really was a man named Jesus (which is in question), nobody knows exactly what he looked like. That said, we could all learn to do some good from the example of Jesus, even if its from the example of the "legend".

Jesus and His followers were not "white." They were Jewish with olive skin. The picture of a white Jesus and disciples comes from the artist who would later draw them as the artist saw the other people in their white society.

Don't believe everything you hear - Do you honestly believe that the people of the middle east 2000 years ago were typical White Caucasian Stereotypes???
They were most likely ALL DARK SKINNED, in one way or another - It's HOT out there you see!

Pictures of Jesus and his disciples were depicted as white Europeans to make it more palletable for white Europeans whilst they were being brainwashed into believing in Christianity.

No, the painters who painted them are.
Jesus and his disciples were born in the Middle East and would have had dark skin, not dsimilar from the Palistinians who are born in the same area.
