Before Jesus is ascended into heaven, he tells his followers a few things. One of those things is this:
"He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned." Mark 16:16(NAS)
Yet, the Apostle Paul says something else:
"that if you confess with your mouth Jesus {as} Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;" Romans 10:9 (NAS)
Do these seem to contradict each other? All scripture is God-breathed, and from the Holy Spirit. None of it has been written by the opinions of men. Paul has the same amount of credibility as Jesus does in the Bible. So please, do not give me a "Believe Jesus and not inferior man." answer. There will be no trashing Protestants, Catholics, or other Church denominations. If you do, I (and I hope others) will flag you :-). God's Word cannot contradict. With that in mind, how can these two verses be at harmony with each other? God Bless and good luck.

Orphans are not easy to manage. The seem to even be losing their slippers on a daily basis. Bedsheets end up as hammocks and later in the garbage. Clothes sorted in the morning are strewn about the hostel by evening. Please I need some good advice.

Prayer to change god's will makes no sense when people say that god's will has a higher purpose in what we perceive as a bad thing (death of a child, birth defect, becoming disabled, etc.). Why pray for a particular result if god's will is done whether it goes our way or not? Do you see the point here?

I keep seeing these standard little Christian sentences, where Christians actually try to be nice. And I know most of them even do it with good intentions, but for some reason, to me me it sounds judgmental as hell.

"Love the sinner, hate the sin"
That actually means: "what you do is wrong, but God doesn't like it if I tell you that."

"I'll pray for you"
That actually means: "what you believe is wrong, maybe my God can change you"

"We are commanded to love, even our enemies"
That actually means: "I don't like you, but the Bible says I should love you, so that's what I'm saying"

And the most judgmental sentence:
"I don't judge"
That sentence is usually preceded by something like "homosexuality is wrong, but the Bible tells me not to judge, so..."

Is it just me who finds these frequently used Christian statements very judgmental? I would prefer if they just spoke their hearts in a more honest way.

OKay so i'm reading the bible from beginning to end. Sort of like the way the book was meant to be written. i'm thinking it's in chronological order or whatever, beginning to end. But there are long parts about how they are to specifically build the temple, and like building clothing and armor for Aaron and all those procedures. We no longer need sacrafices and priest to speak to God. So is it nesscary to read some of the outdated stuff. Sorry but is it wrong to find some parts boring. It's really struggling to read everything.

18"If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.
20Remember the words I spoke to you: 'No servant is greater than his master.'[b] If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. 21They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the One who sent me. 22If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin. 23He who hates me hates my Father as well. 24If I had not done among them what no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. But now they have seen these miracles, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. 25But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: 'They hated me without reason

I've always been attracted to older women... I don't know why, but I do know that I enjoy their company a lot more. Most women will not even bother with me just because of my age. I know all about "to each his own" and all that, but is it wrong to be attracted to women 20 years older? I've been told so many times, but I refuse to believe it... lol What do you think?

Hi, I am a student having trouble studying English grammar.
I found a strange sentence, at least for me,reading a news paper saying "Germany praise Bush on global warming."

Doesn't it have to be "FOR" instead of "ON"?
"Germany praise Bush for global warming"

What is difference between
and ?
I am waiting for someone to let me be clear with this.

and..

They ruled out Beckham's playing again for England.
They ruled out going back on their previous decision.

Are these two sentences correct in temrs of grammar?

Please feel free to point out any mistakes if I've made on this page.
Thank you for reading!!

Seriously consider this question without going for the mind's immediate defense of its beliefs to protect it from unconscious fear. Would you still do God's will if there were no eternal reward or punishment?

I know the sun was there today and I have no need to be passionate about this knowledge nor do I feel threatened if someone suggests it wasn't. But when I have an 'opinion' or a belief that's not based on objective reality and experience, it always needs to be defended and argued.

- It's a sin and against God (And that funny cliché: It's Adam & Eve, not Steve). At least 67% of people on this earth do not believe in Christianity.
- It's against nature:
Many animals reveal homosexual & bisexual behaviors. Some animals are exclusively homosexual:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Against_Nature%3F
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_animals_displaying_homosexual_behavior

- It spreads STDs & homosexuals have higher risks of AIDS:

Wrong again. Statically speaking, most AIDS cases are among HETEROSEXUAL African-American females. It's all about playing it safely, not the sexual orientation.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HIV_and_AIDS_misconceptions#HIV_can_infect_only_homosexual_men_and_drug_users

- Marriage is meant to produce children:
So that means marriage should be banned on these also:
Infertile couples, those who decided not to have kids, senior citizens

- Gay parents aren't good parents, and they'll turn their sons/daughters gay.

Parenting means providing

love, a good shelter, food & education, and guidance. No one can turn anyone gay. My folks
are heterosexuals, extremely dislike gay people, they never abused me physically or verbally, and I wasn't sexually abused by anyone. And I'm gay: I liked men as far as I can remember, I NEVER had any attraction whatsoever towards females.

- "What if the whole world 'turned' gay? We'll die out"
This gotta be the silliest one. First of all you can't turn anyone gay or straight. It's just not possible to suddenly cease to like the opposite sex and like the same sex. Second If I asked the same exact question, but replaced "gay" with "straight", it'll also be bad for humanity. Much more babies: Less sources for people, more kids thrown in orphanages,
more over-population which will certainly lead to more wars (Fighting for sources, for example) and more deaths will take place. See? It's quite a weak argument.

I believe when the tribulation comes, the false flags wont be blamed on muslims or al quida, but rather christians, and anti-nwo people and people who refuse to take the Mark of the NWO.
