The need is urgent.

Even if everyone drops their prejudices tomorrow to work on this, it will take years to properly co-ordinate the response.

No matter how different our opinions may be, or how we feel about each others beliefs, we need to come together, look each other in the eye, and see that we are all essentially the same, and that each one of us is just as important to save from climate change and it's impact as each other.

This woman amazes me. And I would LOVE to meet her someday. She actually inspired me to try to abolish all the hate that I have in my heart towards anyone. She's an angel in disguise! We need more people like her! Don't you think?

a normal human being will donate to charity and once in a while do good, not necessarily do bad but sometimes will, will that person match up to the saints and end up in heaven even if that person knows that they could be more saintly but choose not to be and help more people but to the expence of suffering in third world countries.

If God loves all humans, why is it that he allows them to suffer? Ask yourself would your parents allow you to suffer from starvation or poverty like you see of homeless children in the city where you live in?

If God loves all humans why does he not prevent humans from being harmed when he knows everything that will take place in the future? Ask yourself would your parents allow you to get on a plane if they knew ahead of time that the plane would crash and burn?

If God loves all human beings, why are babies born attached at the heads, or that some are born with disorders like autism and down syndrome? Ask yourself would your parents give birth to you so that you can experience the miracle of life as a unique child with a permanent disability?

If you parents acted like the way God acts would you say that they love you?

2.1 Formal equivalence and dynamic equivalence
Equivalence in translation, which is a linguistic-based translation theory, emphasizes the form of the two languages. Eugene A Nida is an important figure in translation history, which puts forward two kinds of equivalence, namely, formal equivalence and dynamic equivalence.
According to Eugene Nida, the famous American translation theorist, “Anything that can be said in one language can be said in another”[3] 。Each language has its own distinctive characteristic, especially its own system of symbolizing meaning and complete intelligibility. Formal equivalence and dynamic equivalence are two approaches to translation proposed by Eugene A. Nida. He also made a distinction between two types of equivalence.
Formal equivalence or correspondence “focuses attention on the message itself, in both form and content”, unlike dynamic equivalence, which is based upon the principle of equivalent effect. In the second edition of their work, the two theorists provide a more detailed explanation of each type of equivalence. Formal correspondence consists of target language (TL) item, which represents the closest equivalent of a source language (SL) word or phrase. Nida and Taber make it clear that there are not always formal equivalents between language pairs. They therefore suggest that these formal equivalents should be used wherever possible if the translation aims at achieving formal rather than dynamic equivalence. The use of formal equivalents might at times have serious implications in the target text (TT) since the target audience will not easily understand the translation. Nida and Taber themselves assert that “typically formal correspondence distorts the grammatical and stylistic patterns of the receiver language, and hence distorts the message so as to cause the receiver to misunderstand or to labor unduly hard”.[4]

After all the speculation over their existence, how would you react if you realized you had become a ghost? Would you even sense it? If you did, would you think it was cool? Would you be a nice freindly ghost, or a plate throwing pain in the ***?

If it's me, I'm not sure weather I'd haunt a specific place, or wander around, that is if I could do that.

Isn't there a thought experiment where a man's brain is slowly replaced by electronic parts? And the question is, in the end, "is the collection of electronic parts really still the man?" Doesn't that demonstrate the difficulty of claiming the identity of a person is physically contained in his or her brain? And what does this theory do for the problem of qualia?

Another way of asking this is, don't you think a human built from scratch cell-by-cell in a laboratory wouldn't truly experience events, but would merely mimic human behavior like an android? Doesn't that mean there is a missing nonphysical ingredient, the sentience?

The way I see it, if the Bible is literal then it is a crock and anyone who has actually spent any time reading it would know that it is a crock if it is meant as literal. If it is interpretive then it is open to various interpretations and thus becomes useless since it has nothing that is held as true without the ability to be picked apart through interpretation.

Right?

I graduated from an overseas university some years back with a degree of Computer Science.

When I came back to my home country, the job market was bad for graduates in Computer Science. I was actually unemployed for a while as I could not secure jobs relating to IT. For me, I was adamant to establish myself in IT. I intended to get a job in IT so that I could be more proficient in IT. I was hoping to establish myself as an administrator or a programmer or an engineer.

However, as I could not even get an IT job relating to my degree, I was even willing to start low, as a technician in an IT field. I could do that as I know how to do some troubleshooting of spoilt computers and the operating systems. I even know how to assemble a computer.

I was also not willing to do any other job as I do not want to become someone not related to IT. I was also not in need of money. I was really insistent in establing myself in IT. As I could not get an IT job, I even considered taking up short IT courses to give me more knowledge on IT.

However, tried as I might, I still cannot get an IT job. My family even approached several relatives for help but no one seemed able to help me.

Many Christians believe that the great flood occured around 4,500 years ago. I come from Australia, our indigenous people lived in this country at least 60,000 years ago. Our Australian animals are unique. We have supposedly descended from Noah and his family but the evidence is stacked up against this theory. No offence intended to anyone of any religion but I'd like your opinion.

I helped a man who was beaten daily to the sound of biblical quotes, when I say beaten, I mean beaten from being a tiny tot. My question is: Will his Dad go to heaven because he was a true fundamentalist and followed the bible to a T, spare the rod etc? His wife (shackle) endured the same. He followed the biblical teachings. Heaven or Hell?
