We are taught to always pray according to the will of God. Prayer are always answered according to God's will. We invite God into our lives and our situaltions through prayer but we also understand he is all knowing and we are not.

There are two different views to this,
predestination is where God has decided who goes to heaven before they are born, so why even have missionaries and spread his word?
My view is opposite and I feel that God knows if you will talk to your atheist friend or not. He knows before you do it if you will go on a mission trip to Africa and help convert some children to believe in Him.
You pray for good things to happen, because He listens to your prayers and understands your desires. God created darkness so we can better appreciate light, he created sin so we can appreciate evil. What if every one was perfect? There would be no decisions to make, we would have no choices. God loves us so much He gave us free will, I believe in Him and always will. hope this made sense. :)

read the bible sometimes God changed his mind in some situations, the bible also says; a prayer of righteous man availed much, we accept Gods will because we believe He knows the best out come.
like ; the man who was gonna die, and ask God to extend his life, God did.
or Abraham ask God to spare Sodom if there was 10 righteous, God agreed.
like Hanna who cried out for a baby, God answered gave her Samuel...etc.

yeah i guess i do see what you're trying to say here.but prayer is a form of communication between us and God.when human beings do something good for us,we were taught from kids to always say thank you.so when we praise God when good things happen,it's also a way of thanking Him.i was taught that though God hears our prayers,He won't always grant them.He will only grant what is good for us.He is like our father.though he loves us so much,He wouldn't want to pamper us so much by granting all our prayers, wether good or bad.

If you think along that way, then you certainly don't know the God of the Scriptures.
Perhaps, it is to feel good about what is on the mind. At least, whether you believe or not, He is listening......

Don't forget, God is a God of miracles. God can restore sight for the blind as I have seen in crusades on TV, he can cure AIDS, he can raise the dead. God can do whatever he wants as God is in charge of everything. God is a just God but also a God of love.

Because God wants you to talk to Him. God's plan is always for our good. We can expect something good but God will gives you better even our circumstances tell us another.

God is faithful and merciful and rewards us for our faithfulness. I hope that you will understand that earthly changes are not what are important, and that nothing on earth is permanent

ur gud might be bad to someone & ur bad might be gud for someone.
so its a matter of point of view.
our strengths & weaknesses guide us accordingly.
