Wanting to do God's will and doing God's will are two separate things. To answer your question though, yes. Do you really believe you are in control? We have no idea what is going on beyond what we can observe in the physical universe. What makes us think there is not many dimensions or a multi-verse system of anti-matter? I am not looking for eternal reward because I know the truth already, that God is real because he has chosen to save and reveal himself to me in this physical time and space, this is what matters. People are not supposed to get it, they are just here for the ride.

No one can against with God's decision. All creatures in this world will die without exception, but we do not know when, where and why or what is its cause..We could not avoid it in a second faster or slower.I will accept ,my God's decision
at any time because I can not fear of it. As a moslem I should do what is God's will like or dislike with or without any reward or punishment..Because we do not know when it will come to us so we should make it ready for any time.If we want a reward we should make many good doings and we should ask for God's forgiveness if we did a bad doings after our praying.God is merciful but we should ask for it.We should avoid doing bad thing which we can be punished by God.In islamic teaching there are only 3 ways to save our lives in this world and in the life after death by (1)giving more helps and alms including fund raising for mosques and schools for the poors (2)leaving for a good behaviour children in this world called sholeh sons and sholehah daughters and (3)giving a usefull knowledges to others.

Yes because it is the right thing to do and there is a reward but that it not what religion is about at all it is about love, trust, doing to others what you want them to do to you and believing God knows you and when what is best for you

A persons belief is theirs alone. I wouldn't try to guess what our existence means in the big picture of life which includes death. I would however suggest that each person try to be the best they can without causing any other individual harm.

If you asked me that question now that I am older I would say yes I would still follow the Lord and do His will. I have followed Him all my life and He's always been there for me and blessed me in so many ways and given me joy and happiness and strengthened me when I was down and out. But if you were to ask me that question when I was 8,9 or 10 years old, before I ever decided to follow the Lord. I'm not sure I would. I might still follow Him but I would have to ask myself some questions: 1)Should I follow Him because He would bless me in this life? At that early point in my life I wouldn't really know whether He was going to or not. 2)Should I follow Him because He was going to give me eternal life in heaven. The answer to that would be no, there is no heaven.3)Should I follow Him because He will keep me from going to hell. The answer to that is no, there is no hell. 4) Should I follow Him because He is my creator and therefore I owe an allegience to Him. The answer to that is yes but I'm not sure it's enough to make most people follow Him. It's enough to make me follow Him thinking with my older mind and my previous experiences but if I was only 8 years old I might not think that way.
That is why I do believe in heaven and hell. Heaven and hell is the very thing all the atheists, agnostics and seculars complain about but without them life would make no sense at all. With no hope of immortality our life leads only to the grave. Our life is but a spark in the infinite blackness, a spark that appears, flickers and dies forever. Compared to the infinite stretch of time, the span of mans life is but an infinitesimal moment, and yet this is all the life he will ever know. If life just ends at the grave then it makes no difference whether one has lived as a Hitler or as a Mother Theresa. Since one's destiny is ultimately unrelated to one's behavior, you might as well live as you please. You die, go into the grave and the worms eat you. That's it. You're gone. Mother Theresa isn't sitting up there on a cloud looking down at Hitler and saying "you should have been more like me".There's no more consciousness. Why live like Mother Theresa. She spent her whole life living in a garbage dump because that's where the people she ministered to lived. Hitler had fame, women, money, lived in mansions, had power and total authority, was loved in his own country. Then when he knew the allies were closing in and his glory days were coming to an end he took a gun and blew his brains out. He had nothing to lose. He lived to be almost 60 and he had everything. If there's no God there's no final accountability. You tell me who had a better life. The 2 trenchcoat killers at Columbine High School. They were 2 losers who wanted out of this life and wanted to go out in a blaze of glory and take a lot of innocent people with them. Do you think they would have done that had they known that one second after they blew their brains out they would be standing in front of a perfectly Holy Righteous God to give an account of their life and that account would determine where they would spend eternity.....heaven or hell? But they didn't believe that. They were atheist and evolutionists. They were wearing a T-shirt under their trenchcoat that said 'natural selection'. Also, they found tons of info about evolution on their computers. With that kind of a worldview there was no reason not to go out there and blow everyone away. After all, once they blew their brains out they just went into the grave and the worms ate them. Take away heaven and hell and any final accountability and the world doesn't make any sense.

If you're talking about respecting others' rights; obeying the law and showing compassion to everyone else ... then millions of ordinary people do that anyway - even the ones who don't believe in an afterlife. I'm prepared to believe that the majority of us do "God's Will" without even thinking about it.

good question, well if I'm born again and full of God's love yes, because I would want to be loving to my fellow man.
but if I was the kind of person who seeked God for what he could "do" or "give " me then no, because I would only be worried and concerned for myself.
but true christanty is about serving your fellow man & Lord.
not just seeking Gods hand but his Face

If there's no cheese at the end, then why bother running the maze?
Am I doing it simply for the labcoat's amusement?

Yes, because otherwise I would be extinguished. I'm not saying I agree with your question, but if that's what it came down to, then yes, I would.
