I happen to have a great book on that. It seemed remarkably like today, actually, of course with 1920s cars, issues, clothing, etc. It was more British than it is today, and the Pound was its currency.
For visual clues, try imagining San Francisco and Northern California at that time, with accents that were more reminiscent of British accents, British money, and a strong, socialized, political inclination.
I would have wanted to live there.
