I am having a hard time with a class that is critical for me to get into university and am trying to look at the big picture...'Why?'. For me, if everything goes as plans...it would be for me to help people and motivate those in need...

i feel truth can be sought by an individual through peaceful means. if a person involves in an argument, not a healthy debate, his reasoning capacity will diminish.his ego may be satisfied by choosing the path of confrontation but is he not robbed of mental peace and is he doing more harm to the religion or ideology in which he believes?

I know that most answers will be gambling is a sin, but when ones financial need is great and prayer alone isn't helping, is it really so wrong to buy lottery tickets in hopes of helping out financially? I guess my faith may be a little
out of whack, right or wrong?

For my family, usually sometime after Thanksgiving, we put the tree up and decorate it. Then in our family we open some of the presents on Christmas Eve. Then on Christmas Day, we either spend it with my wife's family or my family.

I f Muslim "BELIEVER" try to please God by praying, fasting, giving charity, No adultery, no gambling, no alcohol, no drugs, no lie, no suicide, no killing, no usury, doing good, asking God for forgiveness, help the poor and needy.....
Also without forgetting the priests, bishops, ministers,.... who try their best to to please God ( but the differnce with muslims is that muslim worship God, but they worship Jesus the prophet of God)

can The other christians who just relax and do nothing but evil things, like gambling, drinking alcohol, using drugs, having sex with many people in their life, comitting suicide, kill other people, steal, lie, Have children outside of marriage, don't pray only when they get stocked, don't have God on their tongue, just bad words...and so on. can these people can be saved, just because they believe in the story of the cross and God in the flesh and God the son and ....While others will stay in the hell fire in eternity is this fair?

i graduated from college a year and half ago. i have had jobs, but none that have lasted for more than a month during this time. i have a degree in fashion design and only had one job as an assistant designer, but then i quit after a month (unfortunatley) . since then, i have been working on my own designs and my own website which is still under construction. i have also been a seller in ebay, and have had lots of customers and great sales, but now i'm looking for a real job cause i'm moving out. i have sent my resume out, but i have no luck, but in my resume i haven't listed all jobs that i had, only jobs that have lasted for more than a month. should i list other jobs that i've had for less than that maybe 2 or 3 weeks as well? also would it be okay for me to list in my resume that i worked from home and sold on and off ebay? i don't want people thinking i was just being lazy, i was trying to start my own bussiness, but it hasn't worked out. how would i list that in my resume. thanks

Yahoo Answers is a great place to share and gain knowledge. But as always there are a few anti-social elements here too. Am referring to those people who tease others who are poor in communication thru English.

When a person phrases a question in broken english, there ARE quite a few people who answer seriously. But then there are also those who simply tease the asker with
(1) answers which are intentionally in broken English, or
(2) some advice about learning the language before posting questions.

Are these guys experts in the language in the first place? And even if they really ARE experts, it is not good to do so.

In my opinion we should appreciate the confidence of those people who post questions despite their inability to express themselves well in English. And NO, I do not mean we should patronise them. Just treat them like anyone else.

My question now is - what do you think we should do to those who do all the teasing?

Do you view Protestants and Catholics different? Acknowledging that you believe both groups have great theological errors, would you say that one group seems farther from the truth than the other?

Only a cruel parent would prevent or hinder their child from learning or achieveing beyond themselves. In fact, a good parent does everything in it's power to MAKE this happen. If you are a parent, you know this to be true.

So why does god not want people (supposedly his children) to become more than god? Why does god hinder scientific discovery by declaring we "cannot know god", or "understand his plan." What sane parent would do this to their child?

The only possible explanation is that we are not actually god's children, but are mearly god's playthings.
