Do you view Protestants and Catholics different? Acknowledging that you believe both groups have great theological errors, would you say that one group seems farther from the truth than the other?

As Muslims we believe that there is one God , he has no partners and no son therefore the vast majority of Muslims would say that both groups are equally misguided because they associate a partner / son to god.
I am sorry to be blunt/rude just giving the facts plz. don't be offended

Can't speak for all Muslims, but as see the Protestants are the liberators, the movement that enabled Christians to read the Bible for themselves and not follow a "Priest" blindly, but the right to be independent in the worship of God. So as far as a religion, I see Protestants as independent and thinkers, but Catholics as a religion dogma and rituals and self proclaimed divine leaders. But as far as the -people- in both religions, I think some of them are humble in sincere in their worship.
So I think Catholics are farther from the Truth than Protestants.

As Muslims, we find Catholics more soft spoken and kind people.
Protestants are a weee-bit nearer to the truth of Islam, but just a weee-bit.

the church split during the reformation because the king wanted to be able to divorce his wife but was unable to in the catholic church. Thus was born protestantism and there have been many other changes since then.
However, the only original difference was that of divorce. Theologically there are not too many differences.

I'm gonna be honest with you and I'm sorry to offend you, we consider both false doctrines.
any thing that has deviated from pure monotheism of the one and only God is considered false in Islam.
we believe that God is above having a son. it's not of his nature to have a son like us humans. we believe that every thing in heaven and earth is a slave to God.
sorry again if my answer offends you.
peace.
