Yes, of course. Somethings matter more than others. The trick is to find out which matters more, and which ones you can effect. Even if if were all an illusion, at least we can play the game to the best of our abilities.

Namaste.

Does anything matter to you? Most people have some commitment to family, friends, community, country, or the entire globe. People have interests in gaining knowledge, serving others, pursuing excellence in a field of endeavor, raising and/or educating children, or seeking adventure. People create, improve, and protect. People also deal with their own anxiety, sometimes in destructive ways.

What matters is what matters to you and to your culture. That is the way it has always been. There is no external meaning on which to anchor your intellect.

Very much so.
(2 Peter 3:9) Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with YOU because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.

What IS His promise?
(Revelation 21:4) And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
(Psalm 37:11) But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.

(Psalm 37:29) The righteous themselves will possess the earth, And they will reside forever upon it.

On the surface level, though, anything matters. So sad.

My jewish friend says that what she wants to be remembered for is that she treated everyone well regardless of their station in life. Qualities like that matter.

A good, wise friend of mine once told me the following...

"The purpose of life is to have fun."

I think having fun matters, but not much beyond that.

no

Our existence is a cosmic anomaly. A meaningless spec in an infinite abyss of nothing. In time, our atoms will be sucked into a blackhole where they belong.

There is no Sugarland Mountain.
