It's only fitting that parents expect their children to achieve in life their fullest potential and become successful. God didn't create mankind to become Gods. He created mankind to love and adore HIM.
It's true that by the mere fact of the human nature. It's beyond our human understanding and finite minds to comprehend fully God's plans and designs. . We can not know God fully is a figure of Speech; meaning the same thing.
We as mortals should love our Creator as He loves us. Because He so loved the world, He gave up HIs only Son to die for our sins and salvation.
Where can you find an unconditional love like that? That's why it's also true that God wants the best for us. The promised world of no pains, sins, and sufferings is coming.
A lot of scientists do not believe in religion because they only want to accept truths proven by scientific facts. They do not realize that if it's not because of God's intervention and inspiration . A lot of scientific discoveries won't be invented.
God was there all along especially in times of difficulties. Einstein had this to say about God:
Knowing God's Thoughts
I want to know how God created this world. I'm not interested in this or that phenomenon, in the spectrum of this or that element. I want to know His thoughts; the rest are details.
— From E. Salaman, "A Talk With Einstein," The Listener 54 (1955), pp. 370-371, quoted in Jammer, p. 123.
Could God Have Done It Differently?
What I am really interested in, is knowing whether God could have created the world in a different way; in other words, whether the requirement of logical simplicity admits a margin of freedom.
— C. Seelig, Helle Zeit—Dunkle Zeit (Europa Verlag, Zuürich, 1956), p.72, quoted in Jammer, p. 124

Actually, Jesus said that we would do greater things than he himself did while on earth. And, to an extent, God has over time given us more and more responsibility over the creation that he initially made. However, we cannot be perfect. Interestingly, God does not actively hinder science, but science itself is limited by human knowledge and reason. Science is a tool, much like a hammer, that people have created to help themselves understand how God's creation works, and how we can make it do certain things. God did not directly create science, just like God did not directly create hammers, nor does he actively limit the use of either. Both were created by humans to accomplish different things.

These answers are plain in the bible, go read John. God has a purpose, it may look bad on the outside but God turns it for the good. example' Jesus died on a cross, that looked very bad to man, but to God he Just redeemed mankind and resurrected Jesus to inherit the whole universe and be given the keys and authority to him. see, what the devil meant for evil God will make for the good of those who love him!

God is much more than a parent, and we can never hope to equal Him, let alone exceed him. The analogy doesn't work with God, because He is God. It is not that He wants us to be ignorant, because He doesn't... He wants us to be as educated as possible.

God wants you to live in abundance. He wants you to accomplish everything your hearts desire. But its the purpose in which you do it that isn't always pleasing to him.
