Why can I make fun of people eating escargot (snails, French) or haggas (sheep organs, Scottish) and no one bats an eye; but ridicule elements of a religious faith and you're accused of being intollerant? Why can we tell someone not to wear stripes with plaid, but encouraging someone to re-evaluate their faith is considered poor taste?

In a free society, we need to be able to criticize Islam's Shariah Law for its harshness and inequity, fundamentalist Christianity for its intellectual bankruptcy, Buddhism for its focus on enlightenment over a social conscience, Hinduism for the caste system, agnosticism for its lack of specificity, orthodox Judaism for mind-numbing kosher rules, atheism for overemphasizing intellect over relationships, etc., etc., etc.....

Why is religion set aside as immune from normal human corrective conversation, which is what can unite us rather than divide us?

Atheists don't believe in God, nor religions...You're free to choose whatever religion you like, but how could you not believe in God the Almighty?
If you say there's no God, then who created the universe, and who created YOU?
I'd really like to listen to atheists' points of view, and I want to know what they think...Of course everyone else is welcomed to express his/her opinion (plz keep it clean, and serious)....Thanks :-)

I'm confused because i read somewhere that a person has GID but is not homosexual. But when i read the symptoms of GID it sounds homosexual to me. Are they just trying to medicalize the term homosexual?

As I understand it, each human that is born is infused by god with an immortal soul, which once created, exists forever. That means that as time marches on, the afterlife continues to get more and more populated with souls. Where is god getting all these soul ingredients? Is there a heavenly field where you plant "soul seeds?"

Some say souls are part of god to begin with. So what is god then, some kind of enourmous "mother alien" that just keeps laying soul eggs to be placed into the bodies of humans (or aliens/beings/whatever?) Does this make god an endless, infinite soul factory whose purpose is to reclaim said souls after they've lived a brief mortal existence, during which time they must prove their worthiness by resisting all kinds of clever & insideous temptations, just to get back to god again? Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!

Or, does god keep getting smaller each time he doles out a sole?

Why can't god just create the soul and set it next to him to begin with?

JUST KIDDING!! The person who invented this new solar cell isnt a Muslim, but a WOMAN named Pam Shapiro. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061128/ap_on_sc/solar_power

Why did this question get your attention? Is it because you never ever hear of anything being invented by people from the "religion of peace"?

"Ah, but Islamic culture was once the bastion of science!". Yes indeed, so say the people who know nothing about Islam!

Think about it, a culture which has existed for 1400 years. They are the second largest chunk of the worlds entire population, over 1.4 billion of em, and literally nothing...nothing at all.

"didnt they do something with numbers and math"? Uh, NO!!! Arabic numerals come entirely from Hindus, the conquering Muslims who butchered the hindus merely took the credit. Google this, every word is 100% true. Stop in the math section of B&N next time, there are several books on this history of math.

the answer is no . Not only does every single miracle bear its origin from greek, roman, or norse mytholgy, or prefarably called the "pagan religion", but their past bears more blood than any other religion doubled over. all the time you hear how cruelly the christians were treated, called names mocked hell a few HUNDRED were even thrown into roman bear pits to be killed. Lets not mention that many upon many more were killed by god himself as tests. hell god killed one guys poor family just to prove a point to the devil. but whats more is that immediatly upon gaining power they killed pagans by the thousands. the christians were a constant SCOURGE on mankind. Christians have killed in the name of their all forgiving god for over a millenia and have taken more lives than any plague or natural disaster. the black plague that rocked europe and killed so many pales in comparison to the lives and heritages savaged by the "morally and ethically superior". Corrupt and close minded= christian

This time I'm not asking for myself but for Diane Haggart. She is a very giving person. and now she is really down on her luck. She could use all the prayers she can get. the Lord will answer I know he will, but first we must ask to recieve. I am so grateful for all the prayers that have been answered for me. Now i would like to pay it forward. God Bless you all. Thank you in advance.

A question For Christian regarding God Holy word.?
Ezekiel 4:14,15

14 So I said, “Ah, Lord GOD! Indeed I have never defiled myself from my youth till now; I have never eaten what died of itself or was torn by beasts, nor has abominable flesh ever come into my mouth.”
15 Then He said to me, “See, I am giving you cow dung instead of human waste, and you shall prepare your bread over it.”

What this? Did God instruct us to spread cow dung on bread? God really said that?
