We all do it, but what do we call it?

Choking the chicken? Beating the bishop? Whack a mole? I've heard a million....let's see if we can find a million and 1.

We get many J.W.'s. No Mormons. (probably a geographical thing) If they do go door to door, what do they say/offer? Thanks all.

Is there any archeological evidence of the people discribed in the Book of Mormon? What about the battles?

Are Native Americans really descended from ancient Israelites?

Does evidence support these claims?

For the first time in my life, I find myself in a finanical mess. And because of my short comings I have three children 2 boys ages 11-12 and a 1 girl 14 who will for the first time in thier lives have no Christmas. I've always done well to provide, but this year being the only income in the house it caught up with me. partly my fault, partly not. I pray everyday that the good lord will just get me through the holidays and maybe the kids wont even notice.. but I cant very well believe that since they are already asking for all the things I can not give....I've never asked for help on here.. but I really need it now... Please pray that the good lord will not let these kids hearts be saddened but that they may understand the reality of life and that wsometimes electric and water and food in the house is much more important then that new pair of jeans or that new game system.... Pray for my family please.

Muslims in Turkey are violently protesting Pope Benedict's upcoming visit, threatening to kill him over remarks he made a few months ago about Islam being a violent religion.

Now - doesn't that just PROVE, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that his remarks were correct? Laughing my *azz* off!!!

You Westerners who think Egypt's heaven should thank goodness you don't live here! I've been here 13 years and wow!Beggars crowd every square inch, drivers would rather run you over than let you cross, there are pollution and trash and wild traffic jams everywhere, education's MISERABLE, God knows how much money goes to bribery and corruption, good-looking girls are hassled like whores (veiled and unveiled women getting their clothes torn up by sixty or seventy men made headlines last week), half the people are illiterate peasants who live in shocking poverty (per capita income is $700 a year), I can't leave Islam although we have 'freedom of religion' (ha!), the media spits out anti-Semitic propaganda, the boys I go to school with are filthy rich and shameless...I feel like crying when I get home each night, I'd rather end it all than go on living like this much longer. What on earth do you like about this place?
Tahhyaa Musr, he he.

I mean the one of the Old Testament was no joke... pretty vicious actually. Then a kinder, softer God appeared in the New Testament... you think he got better PR people or what?

Do you agree that after religious are through with clobbering each other mindlessly to death ....that the only ones to survive would be the ones who choose spirituality over religion?

Could this be the apocalypse?

its been stated on the news that Tony blair has said sorry for the slave trade. Now it seems there are some money grabbing individuals who want compensation for their ancestors being enslaved. Should the UK pay this? I personally think no, what happend in the past is in the past. It also looks like some one trying to create more racial tensions in this country. what do you all think?

Here's my problem: not one of my American friends is able to pronounce my German first name properly and I've seen as many different spellings of it as I have friends.
My Dutch friend Michiel had the same problem, just called himself Mick and that worked.
So I've got to find a nickname that is easily understandable and pronouncable for a native speaker of English. And it should also be somewhat close to my German name which is Sönke (pronounced something like: ZOIN-kah).
All my friends came up with was Sonny which I didn't really like.
Any better ideas?
