I love the memories I have from childhood in the 1960's, when things were so much simpler. Now I must say I am not a big fan. I try and recreate the magic for my daughter but we are living in a much different time and commercialism has just taken over and turned it into such a materialistic pursuit. It's more about who gets their lights up first, whose house is decorated prettier, who finishes shopping the soonest, who got the best deals and the most awesome gifts. Somewhere in there we pay lip service to peace on earth goodwill to all but it's buried underneath all the trappings of commercialism.

I love the Christmas decorations, the excitement of the holiday, spending time with family and friends, but most of all giving to others less fortunate. It is better to give than to receive and to make a difference in someones life.

I will start liking Xmas when Christians become sincere when they speak of Peace On Earth and Good Will Among Men. Until then,
