I have heard some really wonderful Chassidic music. Some of it is very lively and you can dance to it. I really don't know how to describe it. You'd have to actually listen to it.

You get Chassidic Jews, that means they are from a sect that study what is called Chassidus. Chassidus is a very in depth learning of the way the world is and how G-d is connected to the people. Chassidus is a complicated yet so meaningful and clear subject that makes so much sense if you concentrate on it properly. Jewish people buy their suits from anywhere really, but the hats usually come from hat makers who are Jewish. The long jacket which is called a kapota is only worn by married men. Those too are custom made by Jews and are very expensive! Chassidic music is very different to other music and usually quite slow. There is something called 'Nigunim' which are very slow songs. I hope I answered your question :)

It's mostly about wearing modest clothing which can be purchased anywhere. Since Hasidim live in close knit communities they usually buy their clothes at a neighborhood shop owned by Hasidim. I live a few blocks away from the largest Satmar Hasidic community and they do their shopping in their own neighborhood which is entirely Hasidic and they try not to associate with "secular" people. There are so many different Haredi and Hasidic sects so it's hard to lump them all together, even with music. For example, the Satmars have a long-standing feud with Chabad, etc..
