What's this about Asians were once considered white? Please explain. When? Where? Why? Why not now?

There are Mongoloid Asians (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Filipino, etc.) and there are Caucasoid Asians (Persians, Arabs, Indians, etc.). Skin color has absolutely nothing to do with race. The term "white" is not meant to be taken literally. Race is more about skull size and bone structure. By definition, Caucasian ("white") people are those whose ancestry originated in not only Europe but North Africa, the Middle East, South Asia as well as much of Central Asia.

The Europeans never considered them white (and I'm referring to Anglo-Saxon europeans). But in many societies, the fairer (paler) you are, the more desirable/beautiful you are considered. And each region of the world has probably experienced this type of superiority. Japanese, when comparing themselves to Koreans, Chinese, Vietnames, and other SouthEast Asians, thought themselves the whitest and thus fairest of the peoples...but that's before they were introduced to Europeans.
And as for why not now? well, because now people don't consider themselves/others white, but rather compare who's whiter compared to others.
