I didn't realize you were so weak willed that seeing a bible bothers you.
It's amazing that seeing a book bothers you that much, but watching violence or sex on TV has no affect on you as I would imagine.
HItler was the same way. He burned all of those "harmful books" and had absolutely no problem with torturing people.
Last time I checked, there wasn't a person in the hotel room with a gun forcing you to read it. How you can call that "forcing religion on you" is beyond me.
Do you complain at the barber's for having car magazines for you to read? Does that make you feel like people are forcing you to buy a car?
Or how about when you sit in the Doctor's office and see a Men's Health magazine. Do you feel like you're forced to go to the gym?
Get over your prejudices. It's there and doesn't hurt anyone. People died and were martyred so you can have so conveniently what you take for granted. Try reading it sometime instead of despising it.
By the way, it is you who is forcing your athiest beliefs on others by trying to remove any references to religion. Having the option is not being forced. Not having the option is being forced.
But I'm sure you're too biased and blind to see that.

It seems you are afraid of the Bible. Afraid of the Bible through which God speaks. Afraid of the Bible which tells right and wrong. Afraid of the Bible even when it isn't open. Maybe afraid even of the words on the cover: "The HOLY Bible". Afraid even of a Bible which is in a closed drawer.
Of course, in the USA you certainly must have the right and privilege of asking that the hotel remove the Bible from any drawers in any room you are renting ... remove for the duration.
But when you are not paying the rent, then the OWNER of the hotel should be allowed to put whatever he wants in the drawers, etc.!!!
Just in case I don't make myself clear; most definitely I do NOT agree with your wanting all the Bibles removed!!!
====================
A couple of times a while ago, you asked "Why didnt the store shut off the christmas music when i told them to?".
Why should they? Do you OWN the store? If not, why should they do what you TELL them to? Why didn't you just leave the store and not go back there?
And why do the atheists and the pagans (such as yourself) think they should dictate to others and to God?
==========================
You sound like this woman:
On the evening news (U.S.A.) 27 June 2005, in the report about the removal of the "Ten Commandments" from governmental sites in the U.S.A., an "atheist" is shown expressing her approval because they (atheists) should have the "freedom of expression". But in so doing she is seeking to deny those of the Jewish and Christian Faiths their "freedom of expression" in public!

Hotels are private property, not public. I am not a Christian, I don't adhere to any particular religion, but I am very much in favor of individual rights. If you don't like having a Bible in your hotel room, tell the management. If they get enough complaints, they will take the Bibles out of the rooms. But private business owners have the right to do whatever they choose on their own property.
When it comes to public buildings, that's a whole different story......

I think the best solution would be to have the holy books for all major religions available, but only upon request. This is probably not going to change soon though, and honestly I don't see why it's such a big deal to you. They're not forcing you to read it. It's just there for those who want to. Put the book out of sight if it bothers you so much.

No one is forcing anything on you that's why it's in a drawer, not posted on the wall every where you look. So people like to have it by their bedside. Just deal. You are the kind of people that make my skin crawl with stupid comments like this. Stop complaining about stupid crap and get a life

Leaving a Bible in your hotel room isn't trying to force you into Christianity. If a gang of Gideons tied you to a chair and beat you with the Bible until you agreed to get baptised, then maybe.
Relax, SN, you're not going to burst into flames if there's a bible in your bedside table.

Why, feeling guilty about your shady goings on in the hotel room? What's the big deal? Are they not stashing the Gideons themselves in the drawers with the Bible? Bible on tape when you turn on the fan in the bathroom? Tel-evangelical programming all that's offered? What's the big deal? Don't open it! I don't drink alcohol...is it fair that there is a wine/drink list on every table at Applebee's? Hmmm....I just don't order it! You must be bored and needed something to complain about.

No I don't agree.
How is it hurting you to have a Bible in the drawer? Don't open the drawer if it scares you that much.
A lot of people find peace when reading the Bible.

One would think that a hotel room is the one place that DOES need a Bible.

Honestly, does it really bother you or do you just want to stir things up? Here's a tip, don't read it, don't look at it... but for those of us who find comfort with it... I hope you can overcome your immense pain and just leave it alone.
